Starting my second website! So excited but still muddling!
I have been dabbling with the idea of a work from home website. This is something I have not tackled yet as I was just focusing on my cat health niche and wanting to build my human health/nutrient site. I really thought that would be my second website but I am inspired to take a different direction here first...I think. I am still having second thoughts.
I feel like I need to put more time into my first site, I want to build the nutrient deficiency site but that is huge undertaking and I am extremely busy at work for the next month two months also. Then of course there are the holidays!
Thanksgiving will also be my husband's birthday this year, AND our 5 year legal anniversary. I saw legal because it was the day we had the courthouse wedding before our wedding in Hawaii. So, three holidays at once! My husband's parents will be down visiting for this but I am pretty relieved we are not doing Thanksgiving here. I hate to say that since we usually host and do most of the cooking regardless of where it is. I can hardly remember a holiday where I was a guest and could just enjoy the day! I am always busy cooking and hosting which of course means cleaning and planning and preparing ahead of time. It will be great to just bring a course or two with us and show up! Yay! This is especially nice since I will have to work the day before and the day after Thanksgiving.
Anyway, back to my new site. I am playing around with fonts and themes and colors and pictures...still not sure. I like the theme I already use for my cat site, it is called Nature Space. I am using that for my new site now but there are only three colors to choose from for the title and headings. I am not liking any of them for this site. I love it for my existing site though.
I will let you know as I make progress!

What a coincidence I'm also starting my 2nd website. The 1st website was on health, low carb diets to be more exact. Now this 2nd website is on promoting WA & managing career transitions.

How lovely to be able to be a guest at holiday time. I can only dream of that at the moment. I get how hard it is to host and it made me think of how much we do and then it's all over in a blink of an eye and all we remember is the work we had to do and usually still have to do.

There is much to consider and getting your colors right is important. which of course you know.
It sounds as though you have a busy but more restful time ahead with Thanksgiving and anniversary celebrations. Much for you to look forward to.

I understand how you feel Jessica.
I know you will want to get it right the first time around but, it is not difficult to change a theme if you find you are not happy with your first choice.

I suppose. I have heard so many stories of people struggling when they change themes. I managed to stick with mine. I took a long time picking it out though.
I am also deciding whether to use a SiteRubix site or buy my own domain for this one.
Jessica, for what it's worth, I recommend you buy your own domain.
Owning the domain means you have control of your property.
SiteRubix is great but there are limitations in some areas. I don't know all the limitations. I can only speak of one limitation at present which is SiteRubix websites doesn't receive the Google indexing certificate.
That may not be a big issue, but are there other limitations? I suggest investigating that before making a final decision.
That is good advice. I bought my own domain for my first site and I never paid much attention to Site Rubix sites. I am setting it up on a SiteRubix site now but of course I can still buy a domain and just copy what I have done so far.

Definitely Jessica. I think that is a good way to go. You will get a feel for your website and be more confident on the purchase of your domain.
