So Proud Of Myself
I wrote a new post for my work from home website (my small, youngest site) about the Google December 2020 Core Update. That was apperently the cause of my dramatic loss of traffic from Google. After the traffic dissapeared for a few days, I could see Google crawling my site and then the traffic started to come back. So, no calamity in the end. As with all major Google core updates we just need to wait while the bumps are smoothed out and that can take weeks.
I thought I might as well write about it on my site since I was searching for the reason why my traffic dropped off and a post like mine could help others in the same situation.
Such a post also breaks up the monotony of why you should start a website type posts.
It feels so good to get a new post like that completed since it is outside of my comfort zone. This is only my 8th post on that site. For years I focused on my pet site and then my nutrition site so this little guy is still a toddler. I have not had any WA referrals from it yet (though I have had a few WA referrals for several years just not from a website).
I have been working on my sites (mostly my pet site) every day for the last 3 weeks except for yesterday. I am also working my regular job, have been feeling sick etc. so that isn't bad.

Thank you for your blog post, it's appreciated.
It appears that many people were hit by Google's update. I think in these situations we have to just carry on as we are producing content. Over the years I've seen these updates and they seem to level out after a bit of time.
It's great that your writing regular content, I think this is the best thing to do. In my experience with Internet marketing, all the successful Internet marketers are consistent.

I think most of us have a slow down the first few weeks after the holidays .I know I do .Have been spending some time seriously thinking about my direction this year, and I have decided I needed to take a slight turn. I want to spend more writing time on the bond we have with animals. -Why do most of us feel the need to have an animal, or several around us. I think it's going to be an interesting exploration.
As to google and why it does some things, you are much more attuned than I am. Although I did notice a spike and then a drop off recently.
I didn't know what was happening at first. I did not know Google was doing a core update. I went searching for answers online.
I am glad you will write about that since it is a great topic. I have noticed we have a stronger bond with our cats the longer we have them. It can take years for a cat to feel safe in a new home so many people think they are aloof but just don't understand how long it takes. Now all 4 of ours are total babies. We know their preferences and what makes them happy and they are more in tune with us as well. Imagine if you took a toddler who didn't know your language and just kidnapped them! You couldn't expect them to feel safe and loved and happy right away! They would be confused and not trust you at first. It is the same with a new pet!
