Scary Bugs Going Around, Need to Wash my Cell Phone!
There are a lot of dangerous bugs going around. Coronavirus is getting worse and will turn into a pandemic I think. Some of you laugh but wait a few weeks then tell me what you think then.
This post is not about that however.
A ton of people are getting pneumonia from the flu that is going around or other bugs...I am not sure which.
In any case, a friend's Dad who was like my husband's adopted Dad, just died from complications of this fl/pneumonia a few days ago. My husand was there when he died.
In another instance a few weeks ago a co-worker of mine said her daughter was in the hospital for pneumonia. Now she has the worst type of drug resistant MRSA infection. There is only one known antibiotic that can treat it and that kind is so rare the doctors here don't even know how to get ahold of it. Luckily I had just written my post about supplements that can kill drug resistant viruses and bacteria. My post was about the new coronavirus but the same products have been clinically tested to kill MRSA as well. They are truly impressive and have been shown to work on hundreds of viruses and bacteria including SARS which is another coronavirus. I shared the post with her to pass to her daughter.
This "flu" is dangerous. I have decided to adopt a new habit this year. I am washing my cell phone every day either with soapy water wiped on with a paper towel or with hand sanitizer. Cell phones are filthy since we take them everywhere, touch other things that are filthy like money, keyboards and phones and door knobs at work and then touch our phones.
I have read that an average cell phone has 10 times as many germs as a toilet seat.
I feel much better when I wash my hands and then wash my cell phone too! Of course mine is in a case so I am washing the case not the phone itself. Don't hold me responsible if you submerge your phone and kill it! I am not suggesting cell phones are waterproof.
I have had a bug that is trying to turn into pneumonia too. I am being carefult to not overdue it and take days off from work as needed. I have already had antibiotics but still coughing.
There are other health issues going on now in my circle of friends but these are the flu related ones.
I hope you are all staying healthy, happy and productive!

Hello Jessica hope you’re feeling a lot better. Great post how it’s crucial to be mindful to sanitize our cell phones. Since it’s always with us everywhere we go to the stores, restaurants, movie theaters etc. It’s always been a habit for me to wash my hands frequently, also to have my family on board too. Have a very Blessed Sunday. Cecelia 🌼
I have caught the common cold for the first time in three years. I had the flu shot but that doesn't do anything for a common cold, just influenza, which is more severe than a cold. However as I have learnt, the common cold could occur from any one of hundreds of types of viruses. The infectious period of a cold or flu, thought by many to be two to four days, is not true. It can last up to three weeks. That is, up to about two weeks after you feel better, (the cold itself takes about a week to get over) you are still infectious though this improves over the time period.
Bed rest, cold medicine, chicken noodle soup, lots of fluids and keeping hands and surfaces sanitized are the order of the day for me now. IMPORTANT!: Keeping away from others will protect them from catching your cold or flu. Keeping hands and surfaces sanitized is always something one must do to avoid these illnesses. If you come near someone and smell the characteristic viral infection odour of the breath of that person with an active illness of this sort, you will probably be down with it in two or three days.
If you are employed, note that at the most, you will be able to get little more than two or three days off since the above is almost never taken into consideration. Same is true with schools. The fact that one is still contagious up to two weeks after feeling better is fairly new in its findings in research.
That is interesting that you can be contagious for so long. My Dad has weak immunity (he passed away from leukemia 5 years ago) so we always tried to be careful not to pick up bugs. I grew up learning all about washing hands, not touching your eyes or mouth in public, not picking things off the floor and setting them on a table, staying away from sick people etc. Since I grew up in the bush in such a remote area, when I came to town I always got every bug that was around. I had not built up the immunity that some kids get. My husband was the same way. It is interesting on a slightly different topic that kids who grow up around animals are much less likely to develop allergies to animals later in life. I am allergic to just about everything now except pets since I grew up with them. Kids who are in the dirt when they are young are much healthier too since they get the good bacteria we are all supposed to have.
Great idea, Jess. You're right. I'm gonna start using hand sanitizer on mine every time I use it on my hands. So sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Glad to hear you're taking care of yourself. My doc told me last week that there are many more deaths from the flu than are ever reported. She said last year thousands of people in the Ocala, FL area died from it. The media never reports that kind of info...guess they don't want to start a panic.
Yes, it's hard telling how many people think "oh, it's just a cold", and don't recover from it.
Good idea to wash your phone Jessica, at work (retail) they give us alcohol wipes to clean them off each time we pass the phone off to the next worker. At home we use Dettol antibacterial wipes, for lots of jobs, there great.
Hope you, your family, and friends all stay well. They need to get this Coronavirus under control, I think the worst is yet to come, scarey!

Thank you. I thought I was getting better but feel a bit worse today. Still have to take care of myself I guess.

The nearest and ever-present in our hand is our cellphone. It accompanies you anywhere you go from the washroom to the board room, it is more useful than anyone you know sometimes! It has complete features that will make you self reliant and would not need any but only your beloved cp for the tv news, flashlight, weather update, the realtime events, chatmate, calendar, schedules, dates, phones, GPS, movie, research- virtually everything! So better clean it up all the time especially with the recent scare of a novel coronavirus, a little precautionary phone and hand hygiene would go a long way for our health and peace of mind!
By the way, get well soon. Do take care.
Cheers!
