Nervous and anxious for tomorrow!
We finally go in to get pre-qualified for a mortgage tomorrow...hopefully we get qualified that is. I am so nervous! My husband and I have been on the verge of trying to buy off and on for years. We are finally taking the plunge...assuming we get approved.
We have no idea how much we will get approved for (we will try to get a multi-unit property if possible rather than a single family house). That all depends on the numbers though. We have a unique opportunity to use my husband's Veteran's loan and that may give us the ability to get a larger property that will actually save us money if there are units rented out.
Our goal wherever we end up (house, duplex, tri-plex, four plex) is to have our mortgage (including property taxes etc) minus rent income be less than what we pay now in rent. This is all about making a smart financial move. We may be forced to move out but I want to benefit from it! For those of you who don't know, our landlords just decided a few days ago they want to move back into the house we rent. They assured us we were "perfect renters" but they just want to move back in and are renting out there current house. They always missed the lovely location and now that their kids are adults they don't need the extra room of their current house.
Tomorrow will be the big day...so much hanging in the balance.

Hi Jessica,
I'm happy for you, but do one thing for me, Stop doubting yourself!! Everything will be okay, you have to put your faith to work and believe!! Speak it out loud, declare it, give it to God. I believe it will work out for you. I pray that He will bless you with more than you expect. Take care my friend.

I just don't want to get my hopes up and get disappointed or greedy and expect too much. I will be happy as long as we can get something that works. We have a backup plan...if these places don't work we found a cute little townhouse just for the two of us.
