My Highest Single Day Commissions on Amazon

I had my highest sales on Amazon on Saturday. I have sold more items in a single day before, but this was the highest dollar amount. Two items were over $100 each and there were 8 items total. The commissions for that one day of sales will be about $28. That isn't big money but if I had that coming in every day I would feel pretty rich considering this is my 3rd job! This is also seperate from my WA commissions for referrals.

This just shows that it CAN be done without a ton of SEO knowledge or IT skills. I started with no SEO knowledge at all. Most of the products purchased had nothing to do with my website or products I review either. That is the power of Amazon. Anything purchased gives you a commission as long as the customer got to Amazon through your website links. I get more sales for products I review, but there are quite a few unrelated items purchased. In this case there was a cat tree and the other large item was a bathroom ceiling fan at $130.

My traffic was up last week which probably accounts for the higher sales as well. The key is getting high quality traffic to your site. High quality traffic means A) real people not bots and B) people ready to make a purchase rather than people just looking at random things they find on social media. That is why I don't put much time into social media. I prefer the focused traffic that comes from organic search results. Those people are searching for specific terms that bring them to my website. If someone searches for a home remedy for a cat cold, they are not just randomly looking at stuff. They have a kitty with a cold and need a way to fix it fast. If they are searching for affordable cat trees for large cats, they are probably in the market for such a product and looking for realistic reviews. If you can solve people's problems and also use good SEO principles you will get focused, high quality traffic to your website and are likely to get sales. You need to offer great information to answer people's questions and use SEO so that your posts get high rankings in the search engines so readers can find them.

As many of you know I have had many issues with health and other jobs keeping me busy the last few months. I have not been active on my sites. This shows that a great foundation of content on your site can keep traffic coming in long after you write it!

Way to go Jessica! You must be an expert in setting up titles for your website posts and pages that matches the search terms people use. I only joined just over three months ago and started my Level 5. Still lots to learn. I'd be happy to get results like you too!

All the best.

Edwin

I rely on the basics Edwin. I use long tail keywords but I am more picky about the results. I rarely use a keyword that has more than 20 or 30 for competition. Many of the keywords I use have under 10 competition.

I use featured images, fill in all the fields like Alt text, description etc. , use headings, internal links...all the SEO tricks that are taught here.

You will get there in time. Thank you!

Thanks for the tips and the hope for the future.

Congrats Jessica! I agree with you, I spend more time with SEO because I like the idea that people are actively looking for a solution. I don't have to convince them to get one.

And I'm a late bloomer to Amazon. I've been doing affiliate marketing for years and use to hate on Amazon because of their crappy 24 hour cookie and low rates. But now I've been using it on one of my other blogs once I realized you get paid for anything someone buys on amazon. And its paid off. I feel stupid for ignoring them all these years. lol

Ha ha! Thanks for the admission here Eddy. I see so many people that hate Amazon but I have to say they have been great for me. I love that you can cover so much ground with one affiliate program. If someone is starting out that makes it much more manageable. You don't have to wait to reach a payout balance on 10 different affiliate programs. All of your commissions are counting toward the same payout on Amazon.

I know there are downsides and we shouldn't have all our eggs in one basket but the advantages can't be ignored! I literally had sales of a cat tree, a pair of shoes, fancy light bulbs etc. all on one day.

Another thing to consider is that shoppers trust Amazon. Back before I decided to try affiliate marketing, if I was researching a product, I'd read reviews on websites but if the links went to the actual manufacturer like say you're looking for cat food and the link takes you to the Purina online store, I would just search for that product on Amazon anyway because my payment information is all there, I trust their security, and I'm a prime member. So... That's why I'm an Amazon affiliate. Though I'll definitely affiliate elsewhere too.

Yes. I think recognition and trust help a lot with Amazon sales. People know what Amazon is and don't have to wonder if their credit card info is secure etc. People also like to read reviews on Amazon and will probably trust them more.

You make a great point Jessica. Furthermore Amazon converts like crazy. It's damn near impossible not to buy something when you get there. So as long as you can get people there, chances are they will buy something. You can't really say that for other affilite programs. The fact they cover damn near every category makes it very affiliate friendly.

Yup that's another great point. It's something I do as well and if my stubborn ass wasn't hating for so many years I would have thought about that too. Lol

Yes...they may not have every single item, but they probably have just about every category imaginable.

That's awesome. Congratulations!

Thank you!

That's how I thought it would be in my dreams. So glad to hear it happening in reality for you.

Wishing you exponential increase in your sales as you sleep!

Congratulations!

Thank you. It takes time. Don't get discouraged too soon.

On the contrary! I am excited and encouraged by your success and the success of every WA member who is already receiving sales.

Good. I am glad you are encouraged! Thanks.

nice motivation but my site no sales yet hahahah

If you are persistent you will get there. I have had my sites for several years.

ok thats it. one day soon

Wow! Congratulations Jessica! :)

Thank you!

I love to hear that, Jessica!!!
Thank you for sharing! And congratulations!!!!!

I guess I'm ready now to put more Amazon products on my website.
I already applied for the affiliate program and need three sales to qualify.

Uplifting share!
:-))) Thank you!
Aloha, Jenna

I really like Amazon's associate program. Some people complain about it but there are definitely serious pros that have to be weighed against the cons. Yes, they have a short cookie (only 24 hours) but people can buy a cat tree, light bulbs, paper towels and a pair of shoes and we get all the commissions even if we don't review the items.

On the other hand, I don't like the creeping feeling that Amazon is becoming the next WalMart...that is the only part the bothers me. I would rather support only small businesses. From a purely business perspective however, I think Amazon is great for bloggers starting out. You can get sales from all different categories in one place without signing up for tons of different affiliate programs. If you sign up for 10 affiliate programs but they all have a $10 or $20 minimum payout it could be a very long time before you get paid!

Thank you!
Jessica

Thank you, Jessica!!

This is a very good advice! I will take care for some links this week!!
:-)))) Thank you for your support!

Many blessings!
Aloha, Jenna

I was just thinking, Amazon actually helps many small businesses get started too! Like us! I was contacted by a person whose company makes biodegradable planters with cat grass. He offered to send me a free sample so I could potentially review it.

I looked and their product is sold on Amazon! How handy. If I chose to review his product it is already on Amazon so I don't have to sign up for another affiliate program.

Awesome!! Yes, I will do my homework with Amazon!
:-)))

Good!

Awesome! Congrats and great advice!

Thanks!

Brilliant and congratulations

Onward and upwards YAY

Here's to making it happen

Have a great week

Jennifer
