My First Non-Amazon Sale!
I have noticed I have had quite a bit of traffic to one review on my site that includes a non-Amazon affiliate link. I checked the report on that affiliate and after several months I finally have a sale on that product!
This is the first affiliate sale I have had outside of Amazon or WA referrals! I get $6 for the sale and the payout minimum is $50 so I don't actually get paid anything on this yet.
That is one reason I really like Amazon. You can get payouts at lower amounts and the sales can add up faster since people buy a wide variety of products from Amazon. This week I have had sales for cat food, cat grass seeds, metal deck chairs, a book, clothing and other items. The cat food is the only item I review! This mix of sales will never occur on most other affiliate sites. Having this mix of sales makes up for the smaller commissions in my opinion.
It depends on your niche I suppose. If your site specializes in certain high-end products maybe this is not so important.
In any case, I am thrilled to get a sale from a new affiliate!

Thanks Becky! I am stressed about keeping up the momentum. Time to really prioritize! We will hopefully be buying another building this summer since my Mom is selling her rental and plans to invest in a bigger property with us. We will manage it and do everything. It will take additional time though!

Thanks Becky. It is hard. I don't feel like we have much of a choice. The economy is so rough here we had to buy this place just to stay afloat! Otherwise we would both need second jobs!
We would love to be able to travel, take a vacation. My husband wants to go to law school. In order to do any of that we need to find ways to make more money. I am already frugal. My car is ancient, my phone is ancient and barely works. My laptop (I don't have a desktop at home) is old too and the cord doesn't work well so sometime if it is plugged in it still doesn't charge. My husband wants me to get a new phone, computer etc. but I keep saying no. I will get all the life out of them I can.
I figure working hard now will pay off down the road when we can hopefully retire early.
A really great plan my friend. It will one day all fall into place. You make me laugh, lol. I need some of your drive.

And interesting too. I was listening to one guru I have been focused on, and so lucky to be in touch with so I can ask as I want too, because he is specialist in Amazon. He said that it could be strong to add "no Amazon things" which is not on Amazon but in connection with the niche. Was it the case in your selling? Of course, man can sell whatever even so it´s on Amazon or not, just curious because I like so much how you think the way.
But I have a big problem with Amazon because they only use checks. I have mentioned it before with you that we stop at all to use checks here in Iceland and I still not get it why it´s still used! But that means I lost around 30% of the money Amazon send me. So I need even more than 50 dollars minimum. If they, like most companies do, send it in Swift oy with PayPal I would lose only around 5-6 dollars.
That really is a bummer for you! I don't collect a check from Amazon, I get gift cards which I use for the things I buy from Amazon already. They are electronic so I don't get anything in the mail.
It seems Amazon would add a PayPal option. I bet they will eventually. Have you ever asked them or researched it? It seems to be a logical step for them if they want to stay such an online giant.
If the gift cards are not an option for you, I can see why you would want to use non-Amazon affiliates.

The point is that I am, and need, working to get full time income from me online work. So that is way the gift cards in not a option for me.
Yes, I have ask and was not answeared! But too, I look reguarly at it. If you live in USA you can get payed direct on your bank account but if you live in other countries it is the check. Have in mind that I will of course pay tax too so I need to have the sum big.☺

Yes, I would not take a gift card except I have to spend a lot of money on Amazon anyway for my supplements and cat food etc. Therefore, having the gift cards saves me that money every month.
