Making Progress Every Day on New Site! Site Content Question.
Update: I got my answer in the comments below. Since this was my first time using Site Content I didn't realize I had to chose Post or Page first before choosing the the website it will be published to. The option for Post or Page seems to come after the website option so it is a bit counter intuitive, at least this is the case when you chose an existing template first.
I am so happy I wrote the first post on my new Nutrient Cures site! I wrote a welcome post but it outlines the problem of nutrient deficiency causing common diseases and how supplements can help them. I outlines the struggle I went through and how I want to share what I have learned since I know how difficult and depressing chronic illness can be especially when doctors tell you there is no cure! The irony is there are cures.
I am a little confused however. The Certification courses now direct us to use Site Content to create out first pages such as the About Me, Privacy Policy etc. Site Content did not exist yet when I started so this is the first time I am using it for anything other than pictures.
I used the About Me template as directed but when I hit Publish, it published it as a post instead of a page! Does anyone know why? I suppose I could copy and paste it over to a Page, but I think I will leave it as a post and create a new page for the About Me.
Thanks everyone, I am so happy I have been making a bit of progress each day!
Jessica

Even though this may take an extra step...some times I will be in WordPress come up with a writing idea and start writing it as a new page or post...doesn't really matter...I didn't want to take the time to open the content tool at the moment...so I simply did an edit copy edit past after opening another tab on my laptop and put it into the content tool then at the very end just went back at and deleted what I started in WordPress. Seems like a lot of steps but really doesn't take long...and happened because of a spur of the moment idea I wanted to write about
I would probably just go back to writing everything on my site directly. I still don't see need for Site Content.
Thanks though!
Wait, You can install a plugin and convert to a page. Then deactivate the plugin when you are not using it. The name of the plugin is
Post Type Switcher
I hope this helps
Thanks. I will leave it but I am curious how it happened. This is useful for future reference though.

I used the same plug-in Nsoh (StunningBell) commented about below. It works great and then I just deactivate it when I'm not using it. As to being able to choose post or page in Site Content, I often forget and then I have to use the plug in. So glad you found the answers you needed, Jessica.
All the best,
Sue
Thanks Sue.
