Gorgeous Frosty Winter
It has been another weird weather year. The temperatures bounce up and down which we have come to find normal as it freezes then warms up and rains, then we get hurricane force winds, then a blizzard. 2019 was the warmest year ever for Alaska. It was 90F degrees here this summer which has never happened before at this coastal location. It has gotten to 100F in the interior however where I grew up.
It was 52F just before Christmas here which is WAY too warm for winter in Alaska.
We just went through over a week of subzero weather. It got down to -25F at night in some areas and stayed between -8F and -16F here at our home all week. Cold by our standards nowadays but not nearly as cold as it can get in the interior where I am from (where it is farther from the coast and gets hotter in summer and colder in winter).
It was gorgeous! Here are some pics I took.
Happy 2020
Jessica

BRRR I don't like cold weather. I don't like hot weather. I'm an in-between- weather person, which spring and fall are getting shorter and shorter every year. Those are some beautiful pictures you took. I like you cat.
Take care
Charlotte
Thanks Charlotte,
Fall is actually getting much longer here since we used to have a fall of only a few weeks. We pretty much go from summer to winter. Now we have a fall of several months some years!
I can't do hot weather at all. I like the nice moderate weather too.
Our kitties are very special to me and my husband. That is our first baby boy.
Yes, he is a gorgeous boy. He doesn't often pose for me so this was a big deal. My Norwegian Forest Cat boy poses all the time like that, all regal with his ruff and long legs. Here is another one.
I remember you telling me about this, Jessica in response to a blog post of mine! You weren't kidding--these pictures are wondrous! 👍😎
Thanks! I have more. I may do another post. I love the frosty look. It is so clean.
The really sad part however is that we used to have birds everywhere even in winter. The last few years there are hardly any birds left. I need to put my bird feeder back up which blew down in the last hurricane force wind storm in December. With the bird feeder I still get some chickadees and nuthatches in winter.
