Getting Offers Through My Website!

I am happy to report I received my first unsolicited offer of a free product to try related to my niche! It is not a big deal and not an expensive product but it is thrilling to get an email from someone asking if they can send me a free sample of their product in hopes I will review it on my website!

I guess I am to the point I really could go after them the other way. I could be contacting them asking for the free products to test. That is exciting and certainly opens up a whole new world of possibilities. I try to be very authentic and prefer to only review products I actually use but that has obvious budgetary contraints.

I also got an email from the editor of another cat website (a larger site with veteranarians on staff) asking if she could send me a guest post for my site. I am in negotiations making sure I can edit the post and make it SEO friendly. I am not getting paid for guest posts yet but at least getting free guest posts from a reputable source is a huge step in the right direction and much better than paying random people to write for me. I may need to pursue this concept further.

Do any of you get offers to try free products and/or get asked to accept free guest posts?

I would love to hear how it worked out for you.

Onward and upward!

Jessica

That is such good news Jessica, you will be feeling so stoked all your hard work is starting to pay dividends, it is one thing getting folks to arrive at your site looking at the content you are creating.

It is a whole new level of awesome getting recognition from other players and competitors in your field of interest searching you out.

Looks like you are ready to roll best wishes as you explore these opportunities, keep us up to date with your successes.

Yes, it is a nice feeling! I wonder what else might come along! It certainly gives me confidence to start asking for samples someday soon too!

Well done!
I’ve received several free cat/dog toys recently to review. I let them know I would wait 30 days to gauge the level of interest, the toys durability, etc. before I wrote the review.
This was from one of my affiliate links through CJ.
Best of luck! Hope it turns into more opportunities.

This is a cat grass kit that you don't have to water. You fill it up and it is ready to go and it is all compostable I guess. I see it is available on Amazon so that is great. I don't have to sign up with a different affiliate for such a small item.

Thanks, you too!

That's awesome, congratulations

Thank you!

That sounds awesome Jessica. Congratulations

Always a good thing to have extra streams of income, but also good to use the opportunity to use influence to share your website. Super! :)

Ye, thank you!

I love the term ‘a Social Media Influencer’!

Thank you! I am not quite an Influencer yet...but I certainly appreciate the thought!

Thank you Sandy. It was just the boost I needed since I have had so much going on in "real life" lately and not had time for my site.

I understand what you are saying about real life! At times I wish I could take a break from it!

Yes! I was feeling like I had to give up on my sites for now.

I so understand. But somehow we keep going.

Congratulations Jessica!!!! I am glad to hear really good news. The vet sounds like a wonderful type of guest post to have.

I've been offered a free box of premium steaks as a way of saying thank you. They won a big beef steak competition for three years in a row. Some of their supporters found my site. So, by the time they came across it, I had collected a nice cheering section for them. -- The power of longtail keywords in an under served niche. The website was just a couple months old. The steaks were probably worth $75 or so. I need to pull that off again.

I have also had request to accept a series of free guest post on my food website. That person ticked me off because they had an attitude in their request. They were over confident and arrogant. They tried to tell me how things would work and how often they would send me a new post. I told them I didn't accept unsolicited posts then hit delete.

Your vet sounds like a much, much better type of guest poster to have.

Again, I am thrilled that some extra good things are happening with your website.

Thank you Sondra. I imagine you enjoyed the free steaks!

I have to clarify. The person who wants to send me guest posts is not a vet, but the posts they put on that website are reviewed by vets they have on staff. In any case, it is the sort of connection that should be beneficial to me! I really like the content on their site but I have to say there were some glaring typos in both the email she sent me (including her proposed post titles) and on the website itself (that she edits!). That was a bit of a red flag. I don't know if English is not her first language or what.

I hope it works out. That is why I am being careful to set some ground rules up front before I agree to anything. #1 is that I can edit the post.

I'm sorry, I may have read it too quickly. That time of night lol

It sounds like you a good type of post. At the moment, getting extra content that you don't have to pay for sounds like it could be even better with all that you have going on.

p.s. Did you get your units rented out?

Our vacancy in our own building is filled. That was a huge relief. We had no lapse in rent at all. Our next vacany will be in June.

In the 6-plex we have had no luck yet. The one unit is almost ready to go (just need to get the bathroom floor and wall fixed where they had to cut away the sheetrock to look at the plumbing. The new windows are installed and we had a plumber come today and fix the heat in the building that has made it into a furnace with stuck zone valves. We have the worst luck with those. We end up with stuck zone valves in every home and building we are in! The heat pours out and there is nothing you can do to stop it until you get a plumber. No wonder people have been propping the door open! The old blinds won't fit on the new windows though so we need to install new blinds as well. Then I think it is done. The other unit is still a long ways from being done. It still needs the bathroom finished, (no toilet or sink running now, sheetrock out) kitchen finished (there is no sink now and cabinets are not finished), paint, carpet and all tools and junk that have accumulated taken out since my Mom and her boyfriend were working on it themselves. It is full of tools, sheetrock, buckets, brooms, benches, a table saw, the toilet that had to be taken out, etc. etc. etc. as well as canned goods from the kitchen cupboards and random stuff from the tenant that was left behind. Grout, mud, paint, you name it.

Awesome!! Such great success and inspiration!! I’m cheering with you 😊👏😊

Thank you very much!

Way to go, Jessica!

Thanks! I am happy to be making progress despite my setbacks.

Sometimes, it’s one step forward, two steps back. You’re doing great, as long as you don’t give up!

Yes, I always come back!
