Didn't make my goal but still worth it!

I did not make my short term goal of Monday to have emails, site map etc. set up on my new site. This is due mostly to a very frustrating glitch. I have tried to get help from
Site Support, other WA members etc. and still have not figured it out. I am so confused. It worked fine for my first site but is not working now.

I am trying not to get too upset about this however. If I did not commit to getting all this done by Monday I would not have even discovered the problem yet and it would be that many more hours or days that I would have to spend later trying to figure it out!

Therefore, this is not a failure, just a bump in the road that has to be navigated eventually so better to get it out of the way now!

I appreciate those who are helping and offering suggestions.

I have tried three different email addresses now and I don't get a confirmation email from Gravatar on any of them. I thought forwarding was the problem but I tried a new one that is not forwarded and it still didn't work.

You know I had problems with forwarding recently too, but I think that is squared away now, for me at least.

Hi Jessica! I gave you all I had:). According to Gravatar, sometimes that mail can take a while.
Did you contact Gravatar again, since you created the new email addresses?

No, not yet since I sent myself a test email to the new email address and it didn't come through! So I emailed Site Support again to see if the email is working. If the email isn't working than that explains this part of the problem.

In the past, I have had to create my email several times here. Have you tried creating a new Gmail account perhaps and just forget about the forward?

Yes, it already works for the Gmail account but it is best to have a site specific email rather than a free Gmail etc. for credibility. This is for my Username that I will be using everyday for my site so this is what people will actually see. That was the whole point of the forward.

It all worked fine for my first site so I really don't understand the difference.

Ok...well check the link to the forum I sent earlier and ask away in there.

Thanks, I will have to check that out. I am pursuing a few other avenues first. (Changing my Wordpress password is supposed to fix it possibly and waiting to hear from Site Support why the new email isn't working) If they don't work I will go there next. Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I did read your problem but I am not sure I understand it. I am not that far into training. This is where there should be somebody that we can go to to get THE ANSWER to a situation that we or fellow members cannot find an answer to. Surely this is not a new problem about this. Just a thought, Have you tried a google search for the answer? There might be somebody out there who has blogged about it . Scott

We tried a bit. She even contacted Gravatar themselves and SiteSupport.

Yes, I searched online. It seems like the problem is the email getting through so I have been trying to fix that by setting up a new email that isn't forwarded (after asking if there is any way to access the email that is forwarded but there isn't), checking spam, adding email addresses from Gravatar and Wordpress (Gravatar is owned by Wordpress) to the contacts so it doesn't get blocked, and sending myself a test email. I never got the test email to the new site so I just sent SiteSupport another email asking if it is working!
