August Experiment with Quora
I want to keep moving forward though I don't have a ton of time lately for my sites. It occured to me I could really get more traffic if I went back to posting on Quora every day. I just toyed around with it after I read Jerry's amazingly inspiring post this spring. I was impressed at the traffic it brought in (not much but I spent way less time than I had to with social media to get the same result). The great part about Quora is that the traffic comes in from the post days, weeks and even months after you add something. You don't have to post every day or many times per day like other social media platforms.
So, I thought, if I can get traffic from Quora with little effort then I really should not pass up such a great opportunity. If I post to Quora every day this month, I bet I could get a good deal of new traffic to my site on top of the organic traffic I already have.
Starting two days ago I have been posting to Quora every day. It is still too early to know how much traffic this will bring in but I was very encouraged to see someone from Quora on Google Analytics in real time. They were on a post that I had just added a link to on Quora immediatly before. It's working! I hope by the end of the month I will have built up a respectable flow of traffic from Quora to my site!

Hi have Quora in my bucket list and I know how powerful it can be.
Keep us posted with any results that you receive. I am not a big fan at the current time of Facebook and other Social Media sites other than Google+.
I had a bad experience with ID theft back in 2008.
That's a story for another day.

I am on Quora through a post I read here. I have only done a couple of days on there but then slacked a little.

Do you answer recent questions or do you go back to older ones too? Have thought about giving this a go myself!
I do both recent and older. Quora ranks them based on relevance I have heard, not age.If someone has a specific question and they type that into Quora to search for relevant posts, they will see those that most closely match regardless of age, therefore I think the old ones have almost as much chance being seen as the new ones.
That was what I figured. I initially thought I would have to wait for relevant questions to be asked but then I realised older questions are still viewed the same amount (if not more, as they have more relevant answers too).
There is a little utility in answering new questions since your answer may be the one shown first and therefore get a few extra views. I am not sure how Quora orders the answers ultimately though. So I just don't worry about age and answer them all!
