What software are you using to collect emails? What email autoresponder are you using?
I'm currently checking out MailPoet. Another WA'er recommended it.
Have you used

No but I needto

I’m using Kartra, which is similar to ClickFunnels. These platforms are much more than an email program. They are a page builder, product, designer, payment processor, and much more. So, they are pretty expensive. I pay about $2000 a year.

Aweber is a pretty good and basic emailer. It is free up to a certain amount of emails before they start charging. I think it is 500 contacts before they start charging. You can create forms, and also sequences.

Thanks for the response, Brad!

Are you doing digital offers? If so, is Kartra handling the whole process? What I mean by that....
1. Have a link in your bio on FB or IG that the visitor clicks on.
2. Go to landing page for offer.
3a. Collects email address for free offer and sends the offer to that address.
3b. handles the payment process and sends the offer.
4. Sends a receipt
5. follow emails

I appreciate your input.
Thanks, Suze

Yup, it does most of that stuff.

I have several email lists in various niches and use ActiveCampaign to manage them all.

Hey Phil... Thanks! I have to look at ActiveCampaign again.

I wonder if it would be easier to use something like ClickFunnels or Syteme.io to do the whole thing. Meaning.... capture the email address, send free offer, process payment for paid offers, and follow up.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks!

I have my own procedure for creating a funnel (and a Lead Magnet, for that matter) and would prefer to use it than pay a third-party. It's not difficult once you've done it a couple of times. I do have some training on it.

At one time I created accounts to try them out in:
GetResponse,
MailChimp,
MailPoet,
SendBlue,
MailerLite,
annnnnd AWeber.

WHY so many?

Because the free option is for ONE website only.

Although I tried these out to see which one worked best for me, I chose AWeber for all of my websites.

For me, AWeber was selected due to the ease of use. I pay for the premium service so I can use on multiple websites.

Rudy

Hey Suzanne,

I find Aweber to be the most reliable.

Though I know many pro IMers prefer GetResponse due to the many options that are provided when setting up a campaign.

Personally, Aweber does all I need it to do, and as long as they keep their helpful support staff, I'll continue using that platform.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, Trish.

Do you do any free offers to gather the email addresses? If so, how do the execute that? Does Aweber help with that?

You're welcome Suzanne,

The free offers we have to create or provide ourselves.

And yes, Aweber will help you setup your email campaign if you cannot find the help you need when searching for it.

If you do decide to create a freebie, do make sure that is it of high value so that it will be more likely shared with others, which then works to expand your audience.

There are loads of courses offered (maybe even check here for training, first) to help you decide on what and how to create your free offer.

Here are a couple tutorials you may find helpful in getting you started: Hope this helps you.

Thanks, Trish!

I recently started using SendFox and I like it so far.

Are you currently using it? Do you use it to process digital orders and collect payment?

I'm using Aweber. I'm on their Legacy (grandfathered) program.

How about Aweber? They're free for the first 500 subscribers and affiliate marketing friendly.

I know some use Systeme.io

Yeah this would have been my recommendation. The ones listed above are a bit too "gimmicky" for my liking.

Is anyone using...
ClickFunnels?
Systeme OI?
Capterra?

Any suggestions?

Are you asking which autoreponder service?
If so, I use MailPoet because all the work can be carried out in the WP dashboard while the mailing is handled through their function (not via your email or the WA server). Also, they allow up to 1000 subscribers and up to 5000 sends per month.
But the reason I started using them is because they provide a facility for automatically emailing subscribers when a new post is published. This function seems to be unique in an autoresponder.
:-)
Richard

Yes, autoresponder. Thanks for the info. :)

Richard, I'm not familiar with MailPoet but I like what you said about them! What do you mean by "allow up to 1000 subscribers nd" ? I'm not sure what the nd is...

Hi Mary
Thanks for pointing out my typo. It's now corrected.
When you ask someone for an email address and they get added to your list then they are deemed to be subscribers to you missives.
Any other questions? Just ask.
:-)
Richard

I build my own funnels by creating a Lead Magnet and giving it away on my website in exchange for the visitor's name and email address. I use Active Campaign as my autoresponder to store the visitor's details and send them emails and FileZilla to upload the Lead Magnet to a sub-directory on my website for the visitor to download. I have training on all this if you're interested.

I appreciate the info!

The training you are talking about, is that the 5 part series on how to build your email list?

That's part of it. If you do a WA search on "phil1944 lead magnet" you'll find some more.

None of the above.

You may use Aweber which is free for the first 500 subscribers and affiliate marketing friendly.

Thanks!

You're welcome :)

I use Get Response. Depends on your needs as to which one to choose really.

Thanks.

Systeme dot io is what I use

Thank you. That's the one I just started to research.

I'm going to look up the other suggestion above prior to committing.

Is there anything about system.io that you don't like?

I like it because you can stay free until you get over 2k contacts. The only thing, though, is that you have to use API or a code for the form to use in Wordpress.

They don't use Wordpress. All email autoresponders now require you to use your domain email rather than Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo. I learned how to use their form to install on my Wordpress. I created a subdomain on my domain and used that as forwarding for the funnel. It works. They recently added API integration, but I'm unsure how that works. I haven't played around with it for Wordpress.

Systems dot io is its entity so most have created another domain to use it rather than using Wordpress. They have a blog that comes with it. I'm not sure how good that is with SEO. I never used that feature. I stick to Wordpress. And use the email form code. They have video instructions inside the platform to show you how to do things inside there and how to do forms with Wordpress.

Thanks for the info...I appreciate all the details.

Sure, you are welcome.

I'll check out both apowersoft.com (free) and FastStone Capture.

Regarding my .com name and website name, is it necessary to copyrighted or file for a trademark?

Have any of you copyrighted or trademarked your .com name?

I definitely am going to trademark my business names and logos. The first logo I created was too close to something else when I handed it over to my attorney for review. That was because I took Free Graphics from Free Logo maker site. This time I created my own from scratch using a program called PicMonkey and I am much happier.I have submitted the new logo and so far-so good.

Thanks for sharing, Edie!

Sounds like you are making great progress! Keep the momentum going!

I'll have to check PicMonkey.

Thank you!! I love Picmonkey. You do have to subscribe but it’s cheap!

Trademarkia is a good site to check on the topic.

Thanks!

Good question and I think Glen gave you a good answer

Thanks, Adel! I agree.

Hey Suzanne,
I don't believe so but that is a good question.

Tried and True

Elaine

Thanks! Interesting post by Legal Zoom.

Hi Suza Marie,

I would say no at first. You might do a quick trademark search to see if you can trademark your name. In the future if your site becomes very popular and you have a name that is trademark worthy then you could go that route.

You always put a copyright at the bottom of your site. By Law when something is written, drawn, photographed, etc.. it is already copyrighted.

Legal Zoom Article on the topic:
https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/do-i-need-to-copyright-my-website

Hope this helps,

- Glen B

Very helpful, Glen!

I already did the trademark search on my .com name. So I know I can trademark it, just didn't know if I should do it right away.

I appreciate the info and the link. Thanks!

My Pleasure SuzaMarie!

- Glen B

My 2 cents

When you want to trademark your name you also need to buy every other extension, dot org, dot net, dot whatever.

I understand that companies as CocaCola and Apple would do this.
For niche market domains, this has no use, and cost a lot of money

Once the site gets some traction, I'm going to buy the .org and .net anyway for a little peace of mind.

A long time ago, at least 10 years ago, a guy bought bestbuy.net. On the site, he completely trashed Best Buy. He told of his bad experience complete with pictures of being confronted in the store and then being tossed out.

So, with that story in mind and the fact that there are copycatters out there, I'll fork out the extra $25 or so.

Thanks for your input. I find your 2 cents to always be helpful. :)

By the way, the big box store Best Buy still doesn't own bestbuy.net. Crazy. It's owned by "internet's Best Buy Guide". It looks like the site hasn't been touched sine 2011.

Your 2 cents is brilliant...

Not really Suzanne, if its your own Domain name then its yours for life unless you sell it.

Thanks!

No probs, enjoy your Sunday and the week to come.

Is anyone using QnA Maker by Microsoft?

I came across a post by WA veteran Katkatskitchen regarding using a Faq's Bot. Here's the link to QnA that she provided... https

Hmmmm ... they had me sign in and then nothing ... no pricing offered ... none of their links led me to any pertinent info. Ohhh well ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... that's Microsoft ... LOL!

Right?!?! MS used to be notorious for releasing "buggy" software. I used to wait at least six months before buying anything new from them. Their slogan should be... "Failure isn't an option, it's built into the software. :)

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

That's okay Suzanne, will keep watching to see if/when new releases happen.

I'm seeing it for the first time. But it will not hurt your site. If you don't like it you can get rid of it. I am going to try it out. Thanks for bringing it to light

Let me know how it works for you. I'm going to wait a bit to get more feedback before I take the plunge.

Thank you SuzaMarie

Let me know if you try it out, Nick.
