Hey Susanne,

Maybe you will feel a LOT better off after you have watched Phil's video here: If you explain what you need that plugin to do, perhaps one of us can offer you a suggestion.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks for sharing that link. I watched it and it made me have a little more hope!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

There is a whole community here who will help if you ask the question.

Every day I am getting more followers for my site on social media, interaction and pageviews from people, but I'm not seeing any conversions. Am I doing something wrong? How

Thank you so much for asking this questions because I now know that I am on tract.

You starting about the same time as myself. The trick is to keep going and it will happen.

Wishing you much success here

Authoring & Writing Content

I am just wondering on average how long everyone spends compiling an article from beginning to end. Between research, structuring and writing and then adding links, ads and me

Couple of hours, may be more if you are writing about a subject you are not familiar with and you need to do research

I do my very best to prep and post an article a day, using the whole day to do it

Occassionally, while doing this I get other ideas for posts, so I put those into a new post with the title and save as a draft, which works quite well

With me, it depends on how much I already know about the subject. Sometimes it is a couple of hours and others could be 2 or more days.

Probably during the longer ones I would be making notes for forthcoming posts as well.

Derek

Thanks everyone for sharing some thoughts and strategies you use. Hopefully we can all help each other. Much appreciated.

Thank you for asking this question.

i was thinking the same thing.

I have and am trying different methods and they all take 1 to 3 days to get it all together.

I look at each post like this.

This is the million dollar post. This will be my cash cow.

in saying that it does not have to be perfect for this to happen it just needs to get done.

Also Shhhhh here' s a little tip I picked up in the training and the community. you may already know this.

One post can become more than one post. example you can have a main post which takes ages to put together but from that post you can break it down and have mini posts say 500 600 or so words that link back to the main post. i think this works a treat.

if I have not been clear about here is another example.

8 Benefits of bla blah

then how to use blah bla

Take one point from benefits of blah blah and expand and you could repeat for the other seven.

I hope this is clear. because it works a treat because you already know about blah bla so writing the other articles should be a breeze.

Jennifer

Well, Thank you, Jadatherapy! -- Here in New Zealand, we'd call you..."a real Dagg!!" ....and while that may sound really suss, and even 'un-complementary'.... I can assure you, it's not the latter....and it's "all-good"..... What it means, is that we really appreciate the fact you gave (me, at least!)-- a really good laugh!! :) :)) ....So, once I picked myself up off the floor... where I'd fallen to laughter!! :)) .... I really had to 'concur' that your most-excellent description...."blah, blah.."...of:- How to write and article. was really succinct! -- Yup! -- Simple, and straight to the point!! --- No wonder you have no difficulty in writing articles! .... Good for you... and well-done! :) .....
It's a bit like an example I heard about, the other day.... for people who are required to prepare a Sermon for their Church Congregation. ----

First you briefly tell them what you are going to tell them,- a synopsis.
Then you deliver the main, rounded-out body of the Message.
Then you tell them a 'Summary' of what you just told them! ...

Yup. - if often does take a while for some concepts to 'sink-in' to our, so-easily-distracted minds! - and they probably have to at least 'try' to get 'the-message' through to that 'guy in the back-row, who fell-asleep after the first 8minutes! :)

Thanks again, Jadatherapy -- for the great description, and the unexpected chuckle! --- Cheers! :)
Jen. (NZ).

"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Well I made you laugh. and they say laughter is medicine.

Wishing you all the best.

It only takes me 2-3 hours but that is because I write about products I already use on a daily basis. My niche is about pet products for health and behavior.

If I was writing about products I don't use or didn't know much about, it would probably take me several days as well. When I write posts on my human nutrition site, it takes me much longer since I have to be so careful to give accurate information and make it clear I am not a doctor.

So don't feel bad! You are doing fine!
Jessica

I am not sure what your niche is so I am not sure how much research you need to do, but just remember, this is not a race, it is a marathon and if it takes you 1-2 days to write a great quality post, then take your time and do it right!

Best wishes,
Karin :)

I was talking with a friend about this yesterday as she struggles with the whole writing content thing. Ok, imagine, you and I are out enjoying a coffee and you are telling me about your niche. You are chatting away to me with lots of expression and facts and fun and I am really enjoying what you are sharing with me. I ask you a few questions and you answer them for me.
Now when you write, you are having coffee with a great friend and you are sharing with this person.
I hope this helps as this is how I write and it seems to flow a lot easier for me and I hope this works for you as well
Let me know how it goes for you
Vicki

That is a great way to explain it Vicki!

I just started here as well, and I find that it does take quite a bit of dedication with the research, structuring, and compiling links and pictures.

It seems so much simpler on the outside looking in, just thinking you'll write it up and it won't take long. I'm sure it gets faster as you get used to how to do it efficiently and with your own template and structure.

I usually spend a good several hours on it, but sometimes I even do research the day before and gather stuff, then I write it later. I'm sure everyone has their own best methods.

I work full time so it can be a bit challenging to get an article out every day like I want to... I sometimes miss a couple days a week because I need my sleep lol :)

I am still trying to understand if I create a title out of a keyword and add a subtitle, does that mess up the validity of my keyword in a search? I know Kyle did something si

Hey Susanne,

How about a subtitle of:
Why is my cat scratching ____
or
How to stop my cat scratching _____

as a subtitle.

What I have learned to do, is to try and be in the mind of those searching for information I have created. After my post has been written, I then insert subtitles that are appropriate.

Subtitles also help to break up text to make your posts more pleasing on the eyes making the information easier to read PLUS helps Google to offer what their searchers are looking for.

Hope you find this helpful.

YES. Your keyword "Cat scratching" is included in your title. Is about incorporating the keyword IN the title and not about using the keyword AS a title

Yes, it will still recognize the keyword.
