If you only had an hour or two to work on your online business, how would your time be broken down in percentages between social media and website maintenance/content creation?
every time I paste a link on my pages to amazon I click the link and get "server not found" this has been going on for days now, its really slowing things down, if any one has an answer to this mystery I could move on to something else and come back here again, that would be great
Try posting a question, chances are people are going to have a harder time finding it in a completely different post.
I'm afraid I cant' answer that for you, but I'm sure someone else can.
Hi Susan.......Probably no more than 5 or 10%..........my game plan is going to be to use social as a traffic generation tool only. However much time it takes to post content and links into it is all I plan on. And from what I've been able to pick up here in WA, G+ is going to be the most beneficial. Of course, once I get things going and some experience with it all, I'll know more.

That depends on how much traffic you are getting from social media. Although I would like to get organic traffic, truth of the matter is that it takes time to get ranked and get organic traffic, so I do promote on social media everyday.
social media is also seo juice that helps your website rank so do it as much as you can but have a plan and follow through.
Seems like the time put into all aspects of this work will shift as we get ranked, traffic, etc. I don't think I could promote everyday at this point, but that may be where it leads to eventually.

I usually spend any where from three to eight hours a day on my computer as a hole I may spend an hour on FB and the rest on my site,that's were the money is not FB it's fun but its not a priority.

I wouldn't spend any time on social media at all if that's the only time I had on my website.
It's been mentioned countless times before, and the issue has been debated a lot. Some people swear by social media, others (Such as myself) Think it's a gigantic waste of time. I'll post my new articles to my Google+ and twitter accounts, but other than that I don't bother with them.
That's just my two cents, but I recommend you spend all the time you have available on keeping your website fresh and interesting. Rely on good SEO skills to bring you traffic, and let the social media come after you get yourself going to the point where you can spend less time on writing (Perhaps outsourcing) and more time marketing.

It depends on the media channel and the purpose you use if for. For instance Linked In is good for B2B or primary big business service sites. Face book and Google+ on the other hand might be directed to individual products.

What I have found out since asking the question is the need to put a physical address on emails sent to subscribers. Many don't, but it's required (CAN-SPAM Act). Below is a link that goes into details:

Item #4 talks about providing a physical address within an email's message.
The penalities are not a pretty amount. =(

For example, if you subscribe to a website and then start receiving emails, you will notice contact information at the bottom of those emails. It is there that a physical address (often a PO box) is found. This is what I heard we are supposed to provide for legal reasons. Just trying to find out if this were true.
