Patient Or Impatient. What Works?

I noticed a lot of new people here are wondering why they aren't getting referrals and are scratching their heads thinking "What am I doing wrong?" The thing is technically you may be doing nothing wrong at all. You're completing courses and the boot camp but still no referrals. You're writing on your website and creating quality blogs yet still no referrals. It must be something you're doing wrong right?

I say no, you aren't doing something wrong except have little patience to see success come to you. As you go through the boot camp and tutorials you will absorb or try to absorb a tremendous amount of info and apply what you learn. But, that's only half the battle. You have to learn how to keep going and learning what you can do to improve your writing skills. And that comes with time and I mean months and not weeks.

In fact it took me a year and a half to get one referral but the whole time I was writing on my blog site, learning how to improve what I thought was good enough and to listen and check out other people who were successful and how they created a successful website.

Probably the most important thing I learned is patience. Because even if you are writing awesome content, it will take time for your website to actually get noticed and trusted. I believe that trust comes with time and consistency. Obviously readers are going to trust a website that has over a year of archive posts versus one with 3 months. Once I hit the 18 months mark of writing on my website I noticed I began to get more referrals that were truly interested than just tire kickers who sign up and do nothing. I think the 18 month mark is where things start to happen especially when it comes to getting referrals.

So, to those who think you are doing something wrong and you are new I say keep at it. Keep building out your website. Improve your writing and keep at it. Don't quit just because things aren't happening so fast. If you treat this as a business so will your readers.
