Finding information about a Domain

I have had to find out more information about a domain. I wanted to know

whether a domain was registered and whether it was available.

I did quite a bit of investigating before I found a source that helped me.

This site not only told me about its registration but the nameservers ,the registrar ,the creation date and the expiration date.

This proved to be helpful to me and it might be to you.
