The Tasks in Level 2 Lessons That I Almost Skipped

I nearly skipped the two tasks – that of offering my feedback on at least two websites within the SiteFeedback Platform and that of posting my website for feedback. When I was confronted with these two tasks, I almost chickened out. The reason being: my website was nowhere near complete. I asked the very question here in the forum whether I should be skipping the two tasks and proceed with the subsequent lessons. Well, I got replies from two fellow members here telling me not to skip as the tasks would enable me get people’s views on my website. Personally, I too hated the idea that I would be skipping tasks and, after giving it a long thought, I gave in. I gave my feedback on one website and earned one credit point. The website that I wrote my feedback on was even more incomplete than mine! I then realised that not all websites are finished when offered for feedback. And then, it also gave me the opportunity to look into other people’s websites and see how people were working on different themes and page layouts. It spurred me on to earn another credit point by giving one more feedback on another site. This too, like the former, requested for a general feedback and I gave my honest opinion there too. So, finally, with some reluctance, I offered my website for feedback to which I got the FIRST one today morning and it strangely felt wonderful that an unknown person had assessed my site. I got a positive feedback and some good suggestions. This, I think is priceless. From now on, I have decided to offer my website for more reviews during its various stages of completion. It’s nice to get people’s suggestions and neutral views which can only be for my own good. The more feedback, the more complete my website will be. Looking back, I really feel silly why I tried to skip these very important steps of the certification course.

Good to know where you stand. Try to not to be embarrassed as we all go through the process. I am still working on my website after four years. It will always be a work in progress, and I've received some very valuable insights and criticisms that I will use to improve my site. Keep up the training. You are doing terrific!!

You are right. We should be too embarrassed with our incomplete website. After all, it's a work in progress. I know I'll be chiseling away and keep working on my site for many more years to come. I'm sticking to the training and doing things one step at a time.

My own website had fallen into shambles. I just realized that I had not updated it since 2013!! There is still much work to do on it, but could you take a look and give me your opinion? Please keep in mind that I am an educator - not a webmaster! I need all the help I can get!!

Thank you for your time!!!!

It is so important to do every lesson and the tasks which you have now experienced for yourself. Best wishes :)

It never pays to skip the training or the tasks. It helps us to learn.

Reading your post have me wonder whether I did put up my site for feedback or not.

The feedback will help you as you build your site.

True. And like I said, the more feedback, the more complete my website will be.
