Sailing On

I joined WA on 15th September 2017 and what a journey it has been! It has not been exactly smooth sailing. I have had bad weather conditions, confusing and frustrating moments, but I carried on. Now, I’m towards the end of Level 2 and when I look back, it feels really nice that a newbie like me has reached this far. If I were to summarise the things I learnt here so far, it would be something like this:

  1. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Trust me, I could reach this far with the help of the people here in WA. All unknown people, but ever so helpful. I have never hesitated to ask questions and I got all my doubts cleared every time. As is my wont, I tend to jump the gun most of the time. I asked too many questions, almost to the point of harassing people here and I’m so grateful to the WA community for having borne my consistent jabbering.
  2. Do not delay in creating your niche website. It is not too easy for beginners but it is important to create a website of your own at the earliest. A website forms the foundation on which most of the lessons that follow and our idea of online marketing are going to be based. Without a website, it will not be easy to learn. Imagine a classroom without a blackboard!
  3. Do not worry too much about the unfinished look of your website. In the beginning, it’s easy to get frustrated and be confused about the way our website was shaping up to. Do not worry, just follow the lessons and everything will fall in place.
  4. Understand the importance of keywords. Do not ignore the lesson on keywords and do not ever underestimate the power of the keywords. I’m still learning but I do know for certain that, no matter how beautiful your website looks and how great the content is, without the knowledge of keywords, it will be difficult to get traffic.
  5. Rejuvenate your Google+ account. I have always considered Google+ an inferior social networking site compared to Facebook. But now, I’m beginning to realise its importance with regard to making my website popular.

Yes, I’m learning many things every day but I cannot say with confidence that I’m no more a newbie. I’ll keep on working, there’s so much left to do. I’m so very thankful to WA for making me believe in myself.

Wow Sukumarth - you're really moving forward. I must admit I don't like my website not being all complete. but like you say we have to trust it will work out with the training. Sylvie

I too don't like my website being incomplete. You know, I had even asked people here whether I should be skipping the tasks in Level 2 lessons where I was to offer my website for feedback (if you could, try reading my earlier blog post where I had written very much the same thing). But I carried on and it's still evolving but definitely not complete yet.

Thanks, Sukumarth. Yes, I went back and read your previous post. I see what you mean now. Ok - I will press on. I think that's why I came to a halt in the training because I could see it coming up in a few lessons, having read on.

Congratulations

Thanks!

Wow! that a speedy achievement in no time. Some people simply circle around for long not knowing how to move further and shy away from asking questions.

Keep up the good move.

Cheers!

You are the one who made me join WA. How can I ever forget that? And remember? I took some time before taking the plunge. Did my own bit of research and followed my gut instinct. So, here I am :) Cheers!

Those are all valid and important points! Well said.

You are on the right track...It is a journey, and the learning just goes on and on...Not a bad thing! Cheers! Dave : )

Learning, learning. Cheers!!

Cheers!!

You are certainly sailing on, Sukumar. A very good post!

And I'm having fun too! Cheers!!

Well said! So happy to read of the progress you are making! It is a challenge for me to get the time to do the training, but I have been working on my website and looking after my group. You are ranking up quickly, so keep up the good work!!

Someone advised me the other day not to think too much on the ranking here. What he said was, I think, not to get carried away by the upward moving rank but to concentrate on the work at hand. But after checking out the ambassadorship tab here, I think the climbing rank is a morale booster and a reminder to stick to the task. I'll work even harder than before.

Yes, the ranking is a direct byproduct of our production here. You are correct that we should not concentrate on it but rather concentrate on the work that produces it. Always a pleasure to read your posts!

This is one work that I really enjoy. And when all is said and done, I hope to be able to guide the newcomers here in WA someday. But for that to happen, I need to learn a lot and work hard. Cheers!

Nice blog post, I agree with everything here, but certainly, #3 is a big one. It's easy to get frustrated with an unfinished website and it can take many weeks of hard work before it begins to look like anything.

Well done so far, I hope you keep it up. It sounds like you are making great progress.

I would like to believe that I'm making a steady progress. Still miles to go like I said but that's okay. I'll try to absorb in as much as possible. I still haven't even explored that Affiliate Bootcamp thing that almost every "senior" seems to be talking about. I'll take one step at a time. Cheers!
