Life In The Fast Lane!

I had my much-needed break from the Wealthy Affiliate activities. If I could, I would have taken a break from my computer altogether but my office work didn’t allow me that. The bane of modern life being such, the technologies that provide us a much more organised living and freedom also give an equal measure of “unfreedoms” where we cannot live an unconnected life. We are followed everywhere – social notifications, bank notifications, office-related mobile alerts, and when almost every account is synced with our mobile devices, it’s as if we carry our whole existence inside our pocket. Or rather like an albatross around our neck.

Even though I distanced myself from the WA activities on my computer, I got the usual notifications on my mobile keeping me updated on the developments here. One topic dominated them all – that of Kyle’s Super Affiliate program or to be more specific, the announcements from members of their being selected for this highly anticipated project. Well, I got selected too and I’m as excited as everybody else who made the cut for the program. Before the announcement happened, I saw many members putting up blog posts on the Super Affiliate thing, some even going to the extent of predicting the outcome and analysing the purport of what Kyle meant in his blog where he made the call for the Super Affiliate aspirants. To be honest, I was somewhat doubtful of my selection when I had said I was ready to commit 12-15 hours in a week. I did not give myself much chance when I saw many members saying they were ready to give 30-40 hours a week. But I did say to Kyle I was ready to give more than 100 percent for the 12-15 hours (in a week) I would be working here in WA. I had to set myself a realistic target since I had my office commitments and deadlines to meet too. When I said 12-15 hours, I actually set a target of working at least 2 hours on an average everyday and, in my time-zone, it would be 10 pm to midnight daily. I cannot fool myself thinking I could work more than that. I wish I could.

It is said that the greatest possibilities in life are its uncertainties. Certainty is basically a state of limbo and if we desire for certainty, then we are pitching for stagnation. Wealthy Affiliate is now a part of my existence and the the highs and lows in my website-building process at present (the traffic fluctuations) is only symbolic of life’s own ups and downs. The only other day, I was down in the dumps and today I’m all excited and raring to go. Time to get myself into focus and start everything on a clean slate. Who knows, a year from now, I would be writing a blue-print for success in online business. A Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Internet Marketing Galaxy, if one may call it!

I do not know how this Super Affiliate program would turn out to be but I’m almost certain that it would be the very thing that is being taught in the Bootcamp. But in a more intensive and focused way. And with stricter deadlines to meet. I’m privileged to be among the select group. Cheers!
