Down The SEO Rabbit Hole
There’s so much happening at the back of a website and one look at the SEO metrics involved is simply mind-boggling. Well, I have been down the rabbit hole in the past few days and I have realised that things are not over with just a great content and keywords. It's a huge sea of information out there and if we do not learn the do’s and don’ts of SEO, our website might not get the potential traffic (and hence business) it deserves. There’s so much work left to be done.
It’s a long way to the top (if you wanna to rock n’ roll).

I keep getting emails via my website from SEO Co's telling me they have viewed my site and how poorly it is performing and offering their services! I'm starting to think I cannot get there from here without paying out big bucks and I'm not inclined at this point to shell out any more money for that sort of thing.
I guess I'll watch Jay's webinar tomorrow night and keep trudging forward. So far, I am finding it pretty overwhelming!
What I've learned over the years with SEO is that while some tweaks come and go, good content that is well written following best practices will consistently perform. Be encouraged to know that as you continue to employ those primary rules in writing each post, they become automatic and you don't have to think about them each time, which makes writing so much faster. It's great that you are paying so much attention to SEO.
Yes. In the long run, I think it's the content that wins. No matter how perfectly you come in line with the SEO techniques and rules, if the content isn't there, it defeats the very purpose of giving so much attention to SEO things.
Right there with you, I also have been spending a lot of time on SEO and back page growth, while continuing to tweak the actual website content and look. Best to you.

I too have realised there is much more to SEO after reading several articles recently. For now I am sticking to the plan here.
For the moment, I'm also leaving the SEO things and concentrating only on content creation. I can get into SEO things later.

Yes SEO is much more complex than what we think it is. Key words is the main key. Exhaustive Research of keywords and placing them naturally in the content is the key. There is no set rule and nobody really understands how SEO works. For some it just works for some it needs lot of tweaks and research.
I started by own store and for every product I have some description with keywords. But some products come up in search and some don’t. For instance, I ran ads in google and bing but somehow my bing ads fetching me some sales but google doesn’t so strange.
We can never fully understand SEO but we just follow best practices and do the best we can.
Thank you

True. I don't think we can fully understand SEO. As it is Google is always evolving and their algorithms change with time, I suppose.
