Choose Your Niche Wisely

So much has been written about the importance of picking up a niche that is of interest to us. When the subject is something we passionately love, then writing contents become that much easier. The communication is more effective and honest, and the audience gets all the correct vibes. The content gets the people engaged and the chances of these posts getting shared on the social media becomes more. Which is one of the ways to drive traffic (and hence, more business).

Having an interest is fine. But we need to seriously ask ourselves: “Is the niche something which I can talk endlessly about? Is it something on which I could add 2-3 posts a week?”

Remember, we might be having an interest in a niche but it just might not be an interest that we are able to add 1000-worded posts 2-3 times a week. Within the website, if we could have a separate blog entry where we keep on adding posts, we are able to spread our net wider to catch the traffic. Ultimately, it’s our blog that’s going to draw in the clients that matter to our business. It becomes the engine of our website. A website, no matter how snazzy it looks, if it is light in content, it becomes largely ignored and lies unnoticed somewhere in the corner of the wide internet space. When we are new to online business, the excitement of creating our own website overrides many things. A wise selection of a niche being one of them.

Our presence is determined by the trust we gain though our blog. We gain the authority people are looking for within the content in our posts. When we are able to talk A to Z on the niche, then and only we can hope of getting our business rolling.

Well put.

Very well said !! As long as we have endless topics we should be doing fine. And that is exactly what my next website will be all about...Thanks!

Thanks for sharing.

All really good points! One needs to imagine how we might grow in order to sustain our efforts, and not just how things will work here and now.

Very true Sukumarth, do what you are passionate about is the primary stage of our development to the next level with confidence. Thanks for sharing.

I like your post and the truth it says that's what exactly what am going through, followed all the lesions, website up and google index but no single sale no-one visits it, frustrating having second thoughts seems nothing is working, joined social media but yields no result, now can i ask you a question. as you have said your niche might not be of interest to many the one you can write more about, do you need to look for another niche that may be of interest to people, however knowing this is of interest to people may be a challenge too, the second question do you need to promote one product per website to make an impact

I guess creating content from the perspective of "other's" might not be easy. I think, it should be more from my own interest only. There will always be people looking for topics on your interest. Their interest and my own interest need to sync. So, I personally will not try to create content that I think people will like when the niche is not my interest at all.

I really like how you have put this into context, Sukumar, having that focus and putting it into practice can be what gets us across the line. thanks for sharing your insights, food for thought.

There are many of us, who have created our website on niches we actually love. However, despite truly loving the niche, it is not always possible to write posts on it frequently. So, I guess the niche should be such that we can talk at lengths on, muse upon. Then we are able to write.

I think that is true, the thing that we don't figure into the equation when we start out is that we change, both in our knowledge and perspective towards our niches, as we go along we develop and if we get engagement so do our audiences, I guess it is about taking everything into consideration and making adaptations as we progress.
