Thoughts and Power
Happy New Year to all of you. I have vowed to make 2018 great in several areas of my life. I want to get down to my goal weight this year and it’s been FREEZING outside (although I am thankful that we do not have snow). SO, I jumped on my elliptical. Shoot me now, it is SOOOO boring but I forced myself to move until I was out of breath.
I took a break and looked over at my bookshelf. My eyes fell onto an OLD and kind of yellowed copy of a book called “The Dragon Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”. I remember it was a great book.
The page I flipped to was something I wanted to share as we start this new year. It was talking about how powerful our thoughts are. By the time we see a circumstance in our lives, we are not seeing something that just happened. We are seeing the effect of a series of events that began with a single thought long ago. Thoughts are seeds in our mind. Direct from the book:
Sow a thought, reap a word;
Sow a word, reap a deed;
Sow a deed, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character;
Sow a character, reap a Destiny.
Bottomline: we need to pay attention to what we think about. Are our thoughts positive or negative? Whatever you are thinking, you are sowing seeds to get more of the same.
Now THAT is a sobering thought!!! All I know is I am going to think POSITIVE. I guess that means I need to reevaluate my thoughts about that elliptical.
Here’s to a FANTASTIC 2018 for all!
