Going wild
Well, my prior post regarding people’s mental state https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/sui-generis/blog/beware-its-more-than-physical has been confirmed. This virus is REALLY affecting some people.
Our subdivision has a FB page. There was a RAGING battle the last couple days with name calling and accusations like I’ve NEVER seen. This was all over a handful of people wanting our playground (which is the ONLY one open in the area) to remain open so their children could play.
Total disregard for guidance given to us by or governor AND total disregard to the safety of others. I jumped in as a member of the neighborhood watch (WHY do I get involved with this stuff?!?!?) and gave calm explanations of why the playground SHOULD be closed and requested that everyone be respectful during these hard times. I got a bunch of “likes” which wasn’t my goal but crickets from the culprits. Perhaps I should just be happy that they didn’t cuss me out or call me names.
On a brighter note, I also noticed that many of my male friends are currently growing beards. This is a new thing for them. I don’t mind. Personally, I love beards IF they are trimmed and maintained. I guess this is being done to give their face a break from shaving every day when they go to work? SO, since I can’t grow a beard, I thought I’d let my hair go free. I was a hair dresser in one of my lives and often cut my own hair but I thought I’d give my head a break.
What you can’t see due to the light is all the white currently around my part in the front. I could say that I pay dearly for those highlights but, in reality, I normally cover them (shhhh, it’s a secret) but I'm not doing it now.
How does this apply to WA? This is a perfect time to be in WA so:
-keep your eyes on your goal – no time to spend energy on dissension
-let your beard/hair grow so you can spend more at WA BUT keep up healthy eating/exercising/sleep so you have energy
The time is NOW! USE it WISELY!

Our swimming pool in our community is closed and I am missing it.
We, however, have to be safe and protect others so I will get used to it.
Many are handling this time well and making adjustments, some are not.
We have made very positive changes that we will continue with once through this.
I do not have much hair on my head so will not be growing a beard, Nicola will not be pleased if I did this.

Yes, if our pool doesn't open, I'll miss it. I wish I could get to my daughter's house. I could quarantine with a pool AND a gym as long as I helped with the kids. :-)

My husband just shaved his head. No barbershop no problem for him 😂😂😂
There are still those in every community who are not taking the warnings serious. I don’t understand it.
I have a friend who works in the food industry. She would really like to be able to stay home and safe but they have to keep making the products all those trucks are delivering everywhere.
If you don’t have to take the risk, why do it???

I know. As much as I hate to say this, some people just want what THEY want and it doesn't matter what the consequences are for others. It's just the nature of the beast I guess.

Good post Debbi. Now is the time to do most of the things we couldn't do before. If you practice them now and when everything go back to normal, you'll save a lot of dough and your life will never be bored. LOL! Many wishes to your success.
Oh, my life is NEVER boring but this time is helping me get my ducks in a row and get to things that NEED to be done.

A calm, respectful and thorough explanation will most times bring an easing response. Hateful speech cannot be solved and stopped with more hateful speech. This is what I try doing on social media but some people are just downright stupid. LOL
I had to become the opposite of those bearded men. Up until the end of February I had a well-maintained beard mostly on the chin. Now with this virus forcing me to wear the very in-demand N95 respirator mask for work, I had to go clean shaven so the mask fits snugly.
Yes, I try going for the calm response as well and if that doesn't work, I just discontinue all further efforts. I refuse to continue arguments. No one has time for that.
Yeah, I get you not having facial hair. You're on the front line.
When all this is over, I'm hoping to get up to NY. Maybe in August???????? Kidding (I hope)
I am supposed to be traveling to Michigan for my sister's wedding on August 23rd. Me (in NJ) and my other sister (in NC) will be driving instead of flying. Not getting in an airplane if we can drive there.
We both live about a 9.5 hrs (me) and 10 hrs (her) from MI. But seeing how the Detroit area is the new Covid-19 hotbed, the wedding is still up in the air. No one knows how this is going to play out.
Yeah, I was HOPEFULLY kidding about Aug. I'd love to get up to NY (Long Island) in Jun. You know me, I try to think positive and my glass is always 1/2 full.
