Another Warning about Googleplus :0

I have been trying to use Google+ for slightly over a month now.

This time, I am blogging about myself getting a warning from Google+. ;)

About a week ago, I received this e-mail from the Google+ Team:

Dear Sue Tay,

We've determined that your posts may be in violation of our User Content and Conduct Policy. https://www.google.com/intl/en/+/policy/content.ht...
Spamming, including sending unwanted promotional or commercial content, or engaging in unwanted or mass solicitation, is not permitted.

Continued violation of our policies can lead to the loss of your ability to use some or all features of Google+ and other Google services. Learn more

Sincerely,

The Google+ team

It happened after I was trying to post my WA Review and said something like "To create a free website, sign up for a Starter Account at WA". When it failed to post, I tried posting again several times to no avail. Maybe that resulted in this warning about spamming.

But I was also worried that the scammer might have reported me to Google+ as it was about the same time that he decided to BLOCK me from his Google+ circle.

Lol... how embarrassing is that! ;)

To think that I received a warning?! I'm just a newbie making mistakes on Google+...

I didn't even report the scammers that I encountered on Google+ even though I can see the multiple accounts that they have been creating and continuing with their scamming activities. Google+ should be going after those guys instead!!

So, I'm not sure whether Google+ also considered my earlier posts as spam or not?

Now I'm so afraid to risk posting anything "spammy" as I don't wish to have my Google+.account suspended. So you will notice that my recent posts have been very restrained. :)

Any advice for me, how I should be posting on Google+ safely, please?

PS: I have been trying to observe and learn from other WA members in my Google+ circles but would love to have some tips on how to make the most out of Google+ posts.

Thank you.

~ Sue

Hi Sue, I have an Google + account, I am not use I want to use this as this is not the first post about trouble with Plus that others are having. I am wondering is it worth it, I am thinking of the scammers you mentioned. Best wishes..Sorry I don't have any advice except not to use it.
Bill & Sue

Hi Bill & Sue, thank you for your well wishes.
Please don't be repelled by the problems I've encountered in Google+.
It's to share about my experience so others will aware and know how to circumvent them. As far as scammers go, I think it's quite easy to spot them now that I am quite aware of their tactics.
I believe Google+ does have its benefits in boosting your site's search rankings and we can learn to leverage using it.

Interesting post, Sue. Thanks for the heads up about Google +

Remember what Google, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook are all about. They harvest the data and demographics of all their users so that they can market YOU. If you are using their platform for your own marketing then you are a competitor and they won't like you. They just want personal stuff, revealing stuff, so that they can choose which advertising to send in your direction.

Actually that's not true...G+ is an advertising free zone in general and meant to be a business networking site. Act as you would in any live business setting and you'll have good dealing with G+. Spam links and don't engage with your audience, and Google will frown.

As for FB and Twitter, both have very intensive business aspects to them also. FB has it's fan pages, ad campaigns for PPC and even more recently CTA additions to fan pages and videos. Twitter has been pretty much merged with Google now and there are sure to be big things coming there.

Everyone should try googling a few topics like these for more info:

G+ for business
FB for business
Twitter for business

Yes, all of these platforms utilize your data that you give them as a means to understand your buying methods so they can target you later...you gave them that permission when you signed up.

But, use the platforms in business as they were intended to be used (by educating yourself on what that is) and you'll discover just what an asset these platforms can be for your business.

Use them incorrectly, and you'll suffer the inconvenience of warnings, bans and shut-outs before you can say "social media"...

Thanks, Leland for the insights.

I am wondering about Google in total. I received a warning message before too. Also I am wondering how they know what is what. I have seen so many other pages with Google violations and they are all still running. Better idea would be, what is it we are using which is ringing the alarm bell at Google's desk. Is it a kind of wording we should not use? links? what is it?. Or is the understanding of Google plus just misunderstood?

Avoid using direct affiliate links if possible cloak them. Google hates affiliate links because of spam. Google has punished many members due to use of affiliate links. Taste even FaceBook it is doing away with affiliate links.

Thank you, Divican.

Welcome

that is why I do not use Google +.

Google + is fine. Just don't post raw affiliate links. They don't view that sort of practice in a good light - and I 100% agree... It's lazy and offers no value to the reader/potential customer.

Very correct, make sure you use prettylink or something to change the links and Google wont care so much.

Posting links to pages/posts/product reviews on YOUR website is fine, but don't post direct affiliate or product links - including your WA affiliate link.

As in, when you posted "To create a free website, sign up for a Starter Account at WA", did you have a link to an article relating to creating a free website which itself contained your link to the WA sign up page, or did you just post your 'raw' WA link?

If you did the latter, then yes - The Big G would consider that spam.

Thank you, Steve.
I don't think I posted a direct link, only a link to my WA review post.

Hi!
I used G+ for the last 4 months and I got the same message, but ONLY after 3 or 4 posts with affiliate link in them.

So, if I just post something (anything, and I have over 30 posts) it's not a problem, but Google has a problem with affiliate links.

The Tumblr administrator, erased my account because of the same problem (3-4 posts with affiliate links), without a warning, so G+ is better :) (of course I have made another account, LOL)

Anyway, happy posting, but NO affiliate :)

Thank you Doru, this is interesting and I will keep an eye on it and always remember

My pleasure, glad to help.

Thank you, Doru, for your advice.

My pleasure!

Hi Suetay, thanks for bring that to attention. Google+ was one of the next things on my to do list. Now i know some parameters and i should be careful. Very helpful.
Best wishes,

Don

Hi Don, you're welcome.
Best wishes to you too!

Thank you Suetay

I guess it will be fine if you just add links of your posts and pages with a less neutral message like 'here is my review of Wealthy Affiliate' without any specific call for action. You have affiliate links in the text so this should be enough.

Thank you, Jovo, for your advice.
