Water Under the Bridge

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a thought that I consider to be just another perk of being a member of this fine community at Wealthy Affiliate. Probably like many other people, this was not my first attempt at affiliate marketing. I joined up with another online training course after I lost my very good, very long time job when the veterinarian I worked for retired and our animal clinic closed down.

This other company taught link post blogging. After I handed my money over, I was told how easy it was to make loads of money online, and with this particular company, I wouldn't even have to worry about hosting my own domain because they would do it for me! (For a fee of course.) Well, being new to this whole game I swallowed it hook, line, and sinker, got very excited about it and jumped into the training with both feet.

Long story short, I stayed with this company way longer than I should have, (hadn't made a dime in I'm-ashamed-to-tell-you-how-many-months), because I kept thinking it was something I was doing wrong. I wasted effort, time and money and by the time I finally woke up and smelled the coffee and canceled my membership, I was disgruntled and resentful to say the least. Yes, it left a very bad taste in my mouth.

I wondered if there were others who were as dissatisfied as I was so I began to research it. Turns out there were many others and I read about people who had much worse experiences than mine.

But Lo and Behold, this search led me to Wealthy Affiliate!

The longer I am here at WA and seeing the real thing now, the faster that bad taste is leaving my mouth and being replaced by something sweet. This is the perk that I alluded to in the beginning of this blog: Now I am able to sit back serenely and watch that old online experience (and the accompanying bitter feelings) wash away like Water Under the Bridge. A bridge over a clear, babbling brook.

But wait! It occurs to me that maybe it isn't just water under the bridge, maybe it is the bridge! The Bridge that brought me from Nowhere to Somewhere. Anyway, it's great to let go of bad feelings and replace them with feelings of gratitude; for lessons learned and opportunities received. And where this Somewhere takes us is up to each of us!

Indeed we are, Sue. Thanks for a lovely post. I had been badly bitten too before I came across WA. And am I glad I am here! I am particularly inspired to continue, whatever the challenges, because of the real results of real people we encounter here.

Awesomeness!
Mojalefa.

Awesomeness agreed Mojalefa! I'm glad you enjoyed the post. Yes, having been bitten badly before makes us greatly appreciate the 'real deal' of WA. The only way we can fail here is to quit. Best of Luck!

Totally agree we are all in the right place.

Sue,

I share your sentiment.

The big bonus for me is the community. I never feel alone again working towards my dream plus I'm learning something new every day.

I no longer trust programs that sell products promising success. I now know that blogging is not easy and takes a lot of work. However, WA gives us the tools we need. I'm learning what works and what doesn't work.

My goal is to build an interesting online magazine for my target market. I always dreamed about doing that for my recovery community organization as well.

Now I'm melding both worlds into one through the lessons in Affiliate Bootcamp.

I'm taking it at a snail's pace, because it takes me longer to absorb all the information. Now I feel more confident about WordPress and have added some plugins that I learned to install.

I was nervous about messing things up, but I moved through it by following some tutorials. I now have so much trust in WA members advice through the trainings.

One more reason to adore WA.

All the best,

Louisa

Thank you for sharing that Louisa. I think everyone worries about messing up at some time or another, if we just keep going we will get there. Best of luck in achieving all your goals. Love the image! So true...

I'm glad you feel as you do about WA. I guess the experience here is that much better having done wrong in the past. And I like the double metaphor. Water under, but bridge over :)

Thanks so much! If we just keep going we can reach our goals. Take care and best of luck to you!

Yes, Sue, we are and Serendipity led you here to where there is authentic training and community support. Let's take the journey to success together and build our own bridges!

Love it!! I totally agree and thanks you so much!

Amen to that, Sue!
