Hello everyone.

As part of a project I want to realize, I need to learn how to build a membership wordpress-based website, with content management rights preferably. Esp

Good Day, Brian.

Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate, and congratulations on becoming a Premium Member.

I see from your profile that you have recently joined.
How is your training coming along?

Many of these issues are discussed in the early part of the course.
Do you have a niche that you feel comfortable with?
Could you write content related to your niche?

How far along in the lessons are you?
The easiest way for me to answer this question is to suggest that you begin the training at Lesson 1 and make your way through the lessons. Then, you will begin to understand how to go about achieving the website you desire.

Everyone here, myself included, wants to build the greatest website on the web and make a million dollars, Overnight!
Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way.
Some times I wish it did, but at my age I know that it doesn't.

I want to answer your question in the most realistic way that I can.
I have a day JOB at the moment that helps me finance my training here and elsewhere.

My JOB is not in affiliate marketing, but I often spend a lot of time training individuals in this field, and I find that too often, people want to get to the mountain's summit without the long climb up from the valley below. This is Level 1, lesson 5, and will explain most of your question in much more detail than I could, in this short answer.

Here is where to begin your journey up the mountain. I hope this offers some solace.

I welcome a rebuttal, and would be interested in your opinion of whether or not, I have answered your question in a manner that made sense to you.

Thank you for your response Paul.

I'm not progressing as fast I want to, because I have real life interferences. But the fact of the matter is, that none of whats been presented so far, hasn't been things I didn't already know, with the exception of how to use the site and it's functionalities.

I already know how to set up websites, I just don't know how to turn a wordpress website into membership website using free plugins.

As this question is quite specific, and this is as far as I know not being covered in the "Setting Up Your Website" training part, which I have gone through.

This quote right here:
"Everyone here, myself included, wants to build the greatest website on the web and make a million dollars, Overnight!
Unfortunately, life doesn't work that way.
Some times I wish it did, but at my age I know that it doesn't."

I don't know why you specifically wanted to point this out, especially when considering that I didn't talk about getting success fast (like overnight) or even making money from the project, but I know this, and I don't expect it to work any other way than it comes through work and effort, while overnight success is possible, it just won't be in the millions department, but overnight success is less likely. What made you think I that I would expect millions to come in overnight?

I think many should be a bit more aware of when they engage in conversations with new members or in general people you don't know anything about, don't assume that just because it's new member to the site, that it's newbie to online marketing. Personally, I'm not new to online marketing, so while I don't get offended for people assuming that I am because I'm new member, I do get frustrated when people keep assuming over and over and I have to explain myself - which I thought I already did in my bio.

This quote:
"My JOB is not in affiliate marketing, but I often spend a lot of time training individuals in this field, and I find that too often, people want to get to the mountain's summit without the long climb up from the valley below."

I can only say that it's putting in the effort, learning and mastering the process that matters, because once you've learned and mastered the process, you can keep duplicating and you can teach others the same if necessary.

As I said before, my question is a specific question, one that to my knowledge isn't covered in the sections you've linked to, and my own research didn't uncover much useful information, hence why I made the question here. I would've prefered a response that specifically told me how to do it, outlining the process and mentioning what plugins to use, or the very least linked to an article that did would help me on my way in this regard - which those you've linked to, doesn't seem to do. In the case that they do, please do link to the specific article.

Thank you.

It's difficult to find a free plugin for a membership site. Well, at least a reliable plugin that will work all the time. When you're starting a membership site you'll need to make sure you have a complete plan and an incredibly valuable content in your site that visitors will want to pay.
Here I found someone who is doing the same as you want. Read his post.

Thank you for your response Eddie.

First I need to learn how to set up the wordpress site as membership site, and while it would make sense to offer content and charge for it right away, it is possible to offer it for free, or parts of the site for free. For starters I was looking to set it up and attempt to keep free as I'm learning and building, plus it would be good to know as free membership website can be very useful just as community sites. But it may be that there just aren't any free membership plugin around, and so it won't be possible with the current plugins offered.

In the linked article, the plugin in question isn't completely free, but at least it does give one an option to try it out. I was hoping on something that was a bit more hands on, with how to do it. And going with a free trial plugin, wouldn't be the way to go, as suddenly all the work one would've done on the site would sudden rely on the expense for the plugin as well. Plus being able to keep it free, will also allow for more potential profit as expenses are kept down.

Definitely start with your WordPress content. Do you have an active site with consistent visitors? and are you consistently adding valuable content?

If not, then that's where you want to start. Make sure you follow the Online Entrepreneur Certification training.

Getting website traffic will give you more raw data to create your membership site.
