Flipped My Schedule Today - It Pays To Be Flexible

I have always been a creature of habit by nature but have learned to be flexible as I have aged. I am uncertain if this is a good thing or a bad thing but it is what it is.

My normal routine is to work WA during the early AM, during lunch and in the evening since I find it relaxing to read, respond, write, and see what is going on in the community.

Well today, I had a full schedule in front of me starting with operations meetings, followed by vendor meetings, potential new employee interviews, and finally a progress meeting with the owner of the company.

Needless to say, by the end of the day, I had a bad case of tunnel vision and just wanted to relax but it was not going to happen.

Once I finished my call, we (me with the dogs watching) made a concoction of frozen, leftover ground steak, yellow squash, pizza sauce, and noodles into a smooth soft consistency for supper since Renee is still on a soft diet. The meal was actually tasty although the consistency was unique.

We finished supper and I was ready to finally jump into WA while NHL hockey plays in the background but not yet. My 90 pound medium size mixed rescue furbaby named Roxy was waiting for me to come play outside. The screen window makes for a cool shot.

As you can see, Roxy considers herself abused unless we go outside and have her chase a laser light in the backyard. She only likes a laser light that is encased in a fake silver mouse that I believe is intended for cats so she may be confused.

Our goal is to light up as many of the solar lights as possible in the back yard on one rotation of the yard and the lights only stay on for 30 second each. W accomplished our goal and inside we went. Finally, time to get on WA. Well not quite yet.

I had not spoken to my day for a few days so called him to make sure all is well since he is still in North Dakota. He was doing well and just got home from getting his dog Karma groomed. This is my dad in the mid 1950s as a teenager.

Next my daughter Ali called to let me know something I cannot remember. I am sure she will tell me again so we are good. This is Ali (Alicia) in 1990.

My son Nate went to the movies tonight and Renee crashed on her doggie downers tonight so I think I am safe. Yep, Scrappy and Buddy are asleep also.

So, It is 9 PM and I am now able to start working WA. First time today I could concentrate on WA today.

When I was younger, this would have driven me absolutely crazy. Being Fifty Plus Going On Fifteen, it's great to be needed and flexible. BTW... The furbabies are conditioned for a treat at 10PM and I am 30 minutes late so surprised I am not in trouble yet.

Wishing you a safe, healthy and successful day.

It is good, often necessary to change a schedule! Over the years my schedule has always stayed the same: different every day!

You lucky to have such wonderful interruptions! Always another day for "work"...flexibility is the big bonus for this type of work. I love WA and what it offers more every day.
Debbie
