If you cannot have the two at once, which is an ideal situation, which one will you choose?

DEFINITIONS

For more clarification, Low bounce rate happens when people spend more time reading your post. And the acceptable rate should be less than 50%

High traffic of course, a lot of visitors coming to your site.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

I was monitoring my bounce rate very closely. It was up at about 60%. I knew my site was new so it didn't ring a bell in my head. But then I had WA visitors leaving comments. So I was happy with the traffic.

And then I had 1 organic visitor, who spent about 16 mins reading my post. My bounce rate dropped to an amazing 38%, but indicated that I had low traffic. I was happy and fine. I didn't bother about traffic. That was great news.

Then I wrote a new post and requested comments from WA.The traffic to my site was increasing, but the BOUNCE RATE started increasing as well, and steadily.

Now my current bouncerate is at about 48% and becoming red one more time

WHAT WILL YOU CHOOSE?

Which one is more important between the two if YOU MUST CHOOSE ONE?

The ideal is to have a low bounce rate and high traffic but to answer your question, I will have to go with low bounce rate.
That means that my posts are interesting enough to engage visitors.
...because they are interested, they may sign up to my mailing list and that's critical for future targeting etc.

Good question to contemplate, I'd rather have both haha. Good point on the feedback and comment option of this community. I just discovered how valuable that is.

If I had to choose just one, I'd choose low bounce rate. It means that the visitors coming to your site are finding what they were looking for, so they stayed and read your post instead of leaving to find another information source. Engaged readers like that are the ones who will buy something.

The higher the traffic, the higher the bounce rate. A bounce rate of 48% is not bad at all! As Karlito 76 has stated, you can change things that will decrease your bounce rate, but you cannot avoid bounce rate. Not everyone is going to be interested. That's just the nature of the work we do.

One way to get the attention of a reader is to improve your headlines. Here is a blog on how to do this: I wouldn't recommend changing the headlines you have now because it can cause 404 error when loading a page, but you can certainly improve going forward.

I hope this helps.

A good bounce rate can be up to 65‰ and bounce rate can tell you how much people are engaging your content. Are they getting to your landing page and bouncing or are they hanging around and reading what you have. You can do simple things to change your bounce rate like add a video or put 'have to read' content so it makes the reader engage thus staying on that page or more. Traffic is traffic, the only good traffic is converting traffic right? I'd rather have 5 converting visitors than 50 non converting visitors anytime. But if your bounce rate is effected that much by one visitor, you must not be getting that much traffic. How much traffic do you get on an average day?

Traffic is not my greatest asset now. The majority of my traffic comes from WA. I also want to thirst organic traffic.

The number varies greatly. Sometimes 49 per day, sometimes 7 sometimes 1.

Nothing much for me when it comes to traffic. And the majority are from WA.

Mine varies as well. Usually from 25 to 40 each day. But I'm getting 100+ page views each day which I think means my content is okay. What's your average time people are on your site? A good average is 2-3 minutes and my site is just over 3 minutes. And you should be getting even more traffic with your site being ranked on the first page so you're doing good!

5 mins 9 seconds on average. I hope to get more consistent traffic soon. No pressure with that. The workcontinues

I want people to go inside the content and browse other places too instead of them just passing by. Low bounce rate, I choose.

This is a tough question. Let me start with lots of visitor then I will start looking into their bounce rate.

Oops. I just saw that part. My bounce on your page lol. I hate this bounce rate thing you know. It makes me feel feverish.

I know right? That's why I want to know which one is more important.

The traffic or the bounce?

Hahaha

Interestingly you need the traffic but a meaningful one that does not bounce so fast.
