Hello Stuart And Welcome To Wealthy Affiliate.

Since you joined you will perhaps have come to the conclusion that internet marketing could be a steep learning curve and there will always be something new to learn.

You must keep referring to the training (it does get updated from time to time).

If you get really stuck on anything then can I suggest you browse some of the 490+ blogs I have published within WA.

Feel free to send me a message anytime you get stuck and I will endeavour to point you in the right direction.

You have decided to follow me and I will follow you as well.

Have a great day.

Hi guys
Can anyone explain to me please , why everyone is following each other ? as in whats the reason for it , I know it must be something to do with promoting yourself ..

for me - if you find the persons response interesting it maybe worth following them to get updates when they release new material on their blog or training.
but you find some people release so much that you are bombarded with emails from wa.
when you are able to create training (after 3 months of premium membership) then when you release new training all of your followers are notified, so the more you have the more will view it.
and i think you can get credits for training if you get comments and likes.
releasing new blogs may get you interest from google, as they are ranked the same as your site, and more comments means to google more interest, so higher ranking.
when you create your blog - use the same tactics for seo as you do on your site - check for a keyword.
if people click through from google on one of your blogs here then you get the referral credit.
that may explain some of it, just my thoughts and opinions.
good luck Stuart.

When you follow somebody you are given notifications when they publish content... So if you want to get a notification when a certain person publishes something, you follow them.

Thanks feiner , I have much to learn , these phrases like SEO are meaning less to me at the moment , but I guess I'll learn , I'm actually dreading the blogs part , but no doubt I'll get through it all eventually as I learn the different stages ..

Not promoting ourselves necessarily but becoming part of the WA community leads to help, advice, tips, training, feedback, comments and friendship.

Kyle explains it in the training as you progress. If you want to check out other member's websites, you cannot do so unless you follow them. Also, if you ask a question in the community, people you network with get notified via email or through the 'bell' icon (notifications) and will come to your aid. Also, your networking numbers have a direct impact on your ranking. You will later realise how important your network is, when you are approved to do paid training in WA. You have to reach a certain level of people commenting and liking your training to be approved for cash credits.

I just followed you! The reason I do it, is so that if someone I am following asks a question or writes a post, I am notified and can help out. I don't know that following someone on Wealthy Affiliate helps promote me at all.

Best wishes,
Karin :)

Simple answer - it shows you are getting involved with the community, and that's a good thing because we can learn from each other.

You'll be fine stuart - you will pick up the lingo as you go through the training.
don't worry about the blogging, if you talk to people you can blog - if you have a voice in your head - you can blog.
take your time - it is not a race, you can stay free as long as you like, but you do lose the ability to ask questions after a week.
it really is worth the upgrade to premium to get the most out of it.
in three months you will be thinking- 'what was i worried about' and be helping others joining the program.
you will smile when you come across comments you yourself were making at the start.
there is a lot to learn, but there is a lot of help and support.
you may have to dig deep sometimes but stick with it and come out the other side smiling.

I follow others as a courtesy to them following me. In reality though, I shouldn't. I should follow those who I see as beneficial to follow. That way I get notifications of all their posts, trainings and so on.

Hey Stuart, I have an easy answer for this question... Networking is the key to building traffic on your site.

The more people you have in your network within Wealthy Affiliates, the more help you have in getting your site where you want it to be, and growing your network in here will get you accustomed to growing your following on your website OUTSIDE of Wealthy Affiliates, and that's where the money is at.

I have a practice of following anyone that gives me feedback or comments on my site, and anyone that provides useful information on other peoples' questions that resonates with me. That way if I have any questions, I can get advice from someone in my network who is already familiar with me.

It's kinda like the "good ol' boy" system, if you need something, you've got a number of people to call on for assistance. We're all here for the same reason, to get great at running an online business, so we all gotta help each other to get there, whether we're new or not.

Good fortune to you man, and have a great day!

Hey Stuart!

It's great to see you here! I'm Simon and I'm more than happy to help at any point along the journey.

The best way to start is to create your profile image and quick bio because it helps a lot when you're interacting within the community. You will get a lot more followers as well.

You can follow this guide if you're not sure how: After that, click on the green arrow that says 'Training' on the left hand side and you'll slowly feel the greatness and awesomeness of this place.

Happy to be connected!

No bots here lol, I think you'll love the whole community here, everyone is so friendly and helping and pushing each other on to success.

Let us know how you get on with the training, it's a lot at first for sure, but amazing at the same time when you see all the puzzle pieces coming together and it all starts making sense for you.

Enjoy your bank holiday :)

Hi Simon
I am wondering , if I have mis-understood what this site is ? (from what I have picked up on , up to now ) . The way I read it is , that you need a business to promote , possibly from a niche or hobby to create a business around or an existing business or product ?. I thought this ( WA) was the product I would be selling .
So maybe I have come into this to early , I am thinking I really need to go and find a business to sell from .
Then I can learn how to promote it via WA . My niche , for the last 25 yrs has been my total commitment to selling , it gave me the biggest buzz ,when closing a sale , my commitment was total and as such , I had no time for hobbies etc .
So I am hoping you could possibly advise me and maybe help me understand , instead of my feeling confused .

Hey Stuart,

So affiliate marketing is making money promoting other people's products. The Online Certification course goes through how to create websites around any niche or topic you like so you can sign up to free affiliate programs on sites like Amazon, Nike, Samsung etc. and make money by sending your website visitors to their sites and make commissions on every sale.

You can absolutely promote Wealthy Affiliate and make money if you want to. Here's details of the WA affiliate program:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/share

There's even a whole course on how to do that covers everything from beginning to end called Bootcamp. So I think that might be what caused the confusion... if you're looking to promote WA then you definitely want to take the Bootcamp course instead of the Online Certification.

It's funny you talk about selling, last night I was reading Grant Cardone's book 'The 10x Rule' that's all setting goals and success and he trained many people in selling.

I hope this helps clarify things a bit for you. :)

Hello & thanks Simon ,
I feel like I'm blindly fumbling through this internet marketing , while all the time , learning snippets here and there of what I need to be doing ,
So I'll take your advice ( which is very much appreciated ) and go look through the boot camp .
I have seen an affiliate programme , that I like and which I could probably promote through here , but the money they are asking , to have use of their back office , for promotional material is a bit much for me to spend at this stage ..
For now Boot camp is what 's needed , so I'll head there now , catch you later
