1st major milestone
I have been a member here in WA for just a week and i wanted to share my progress so far because for me today marked a major milestone. I finally added my first affiliate links in my website h-m-entertainment.com.
This whole week i mostly spent my time building my website, connecting with people and doing the training lessons in order to get as much insight as possible. From the first day i had set a goal to have at least some basic content before i even consider any affiliate program. Having some basic wordpress knowledge helped a lot to progress my website fast enough. So today i felt i was ready to make my first step into affiliate marketing.
I chose Amazon as my first affiliate program because it was a website i was very familiar with and it was easier for me to find what i am looking for. The percentage rates may be low but i felt more at ease by going with a website i have been using for years. For sure i plan on using other affiliate programs in the future but i will take it slowly because i want to be sure i have a lot of content to support my website and also i want it to mature a bit to gain some traction and visitors. So now that my first links are up and working the next step is add more of everything. More content, more reviews, more articles, more help for people.
I know it needs work and i am just at the very very beginning but i can finally breath a little bit easier that now i have laid the basic foundations and i can continue building from that.
The next big milestone will be reached when i make my first sale. I wonder how long this will take. Until then...

That is really cool, I was wanting to add some affiliate links for amazon in a website about my e-books that are on kindle direct publishing--would this be inappropriate to do, or would it be ok--my website just explains the book series, the affiliate link would be used to take the person to Amazon to buy it if they so chose. Just curious!
