Ready to move ahead!

We just got back from a great trip to Vegas celebrating my husband 49th Birthday and my Sister's 50th! We had a great time! After the much need R&R I am ready to hop in the saddle and start moving on my training.

I have had a few ideals and wondering what you think about getting you're kids involved in doing a website. I have an 11 year old son that I would like to see get involved in learning to make money (honestly), helping people and also learning some life skills along the way. He is a very bright young man and I was wondering about doing a website that just focuses on his reviews of the best activities or toys from a preteen boys perspective. (Him actually doing the reviews, with a little help from me with writing skills.) He also plays the violin and I wasn't sure if he could do a website teaching songs for school strings, and also how he might earn a little money with it. Many of the songs they need to learn are very hard to find help for on the internet. The skill building is what I am most interested in him learning, a little money would be a bonus. He also helps around the house doing dishes and laundry to earn some allowance. I do think his drive to earn money would be a good motivator. He is interested in the whole internet business, I'm just not sure if he is too young. One thing I remember Kyle saying in one of his post is "it doesn't matter what age you are".

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Last but not least, I also have a 27 year old daughter that is a fantastic writer, a connoisseur of information and has some real skills I believe would be great in this business. With her, I am not sure if I should do a website with her as a joint adventure, or should help her start in the starter pack? She is currently unemployed and with the hold on the unemployment benefits, lets just say, things are tough and jobs are few and far between. Like me she is a little shy about starting new things, but I really think she has the potential to do great. I think if she got her feet wet a little she would do great, but she doesn't' have the money to go premium and I can't afford to help her out at this time. I am looking for some advice on what the best way to get her started would be.

Thank you ahead of time for your help and remember "I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me". Philippians 4:13

Hi Tracy. First of all I like your verse. And I believe, your children can create their own websites on the things they love to do. Often times, they have the best ideas to share. With your guidance, I think they can become great online entrepreneurs. God bless you in this endeavor. Looking forward to their websites in the near future. Please keep us updated.

Thank you for the encouragement!

I'd say your son probably has a unique perspective that he can provide on a few niches. He can learn a lot about entrepreneurship from this community. :)

Thank you Ethan!

Hi, I think it is awesome that you are starting your son already. I did that with my son at a very young age and now he is only 20 and self sufficient financially. He went in halves with me to purchase our home (we paid cash with no mortgage) and just went out and bought himself a $20K BMW. He does computer programming and works as a game tester as well. All his income has come strictly from online. The one major problem I am having though is that I can not get him to go to college as he makes more than a typical college graduate. (just a little forewarning lol). Ok enough about me, thanks for the follow and feel free to ask me questions any time.
Rich

Thank you Rich! That is were I want my son to be. We had him when we were 37 so a bit older than when we had our girls. We will be getting close to retirement age when he is ready for college, so not even sure if we will be able to fund it at that time. I want him and my daughter to be able to take care of themselves..... How does one become a game tester? Just curious?

Unfortunately it is not easy. anyone who tells you otherwise is sadly mistaken. He got into game testing after meeting people while doing programming. He also played a lot with both PS and Xbox (the latest systems of course) online with other gamers. Then word of mouth would spread depending on how good you are compared to everyone else. It is a nice goal for your son, but better he do his own business online first and ensure instead of playing the games by himself to do it online. Then it will come in time.
Rich

Thank you Rich for the information. Not sure that I would want him to spend his days on video games. We try to keep him active in other things. It is interesting though. I did read on another blog in here that it is a pretty boring job at times, and not fun like playing is. I will have him concentrate on things he knows. It will take me a while to get a website set up. I really want to go through the training first and look at some other peoples sites, to try and get a feel for it. I do think it would be a good learning experience for both of us though. Thank you for all your help!
Have a good evening!

Hi Thanks for the follow. When I started with WA a few weeks back I decided that until WA was self-funding, from referrals, I would generate a few £'s ($'s) through ebay. I have 2 months fees in the kitty.
Take a tour of your home and you will be surprised how much junk ( valuable items!!!) you can unload.
New with Tags (NWT in ebay speak) will always sell, as will designer kids clothes
A 11 year old "WORKING" In the UK the Social Services would be on your back like a ton of bricks!!!
I started work at 8 but that was before we became P.C.
Cheers and all the best for you and your family.
Mike

I am going to look into my son helping me with a website to make sure it is legal. The problem with most kids these days, they get out of college and have no ideal how to work. My son at least has a desire to be self suffient.
Thanks for the advice! Have a great Monday.

I love Vegas! Birthdays are the best when celebrated there ;-)

As far as your children making websites I think that is a very cool idea! I am sure the whole family could do it! How fun would that be?

I wish you much success and yes you can do it!

Thank you for the encouragement, today I will start moving forward with my lessons. Then hopefully by time I am done I will be able to get started! Many Blessings!

Go for it, and I love that scripture it is one of my favs. So you can do all things, Just do it.
Brenda

Thank you for the encouragement also Brenda! I am getting excited!

Welcome. You have definitely found the right place to move forward with your dreams!

Thank you so much, I really do feel like this is the real deal here. Feeling pretty blessed to have come across WA by accident. :)

I've heard many people tell what site/link they came through. I don't remember, but it doesn't matter. We found it. I look forward to watching your success. Put those kids to work! They have more energy than they know what to do with. Best of luck to you.
