My profile photo
You can probably tell that this is a photo of me zip lining. This was taken by a friend of mine at Boquete Tree Trek, which is located in the mountains of Western Panama. My wife and I were very fortunate to have lived there for 1 1/2 years shortly after retiring and moving out of the U.S. In the past 3 years we have had lots of adventures and explored many wonderful places in Latin America.
Panama was our second stop. Before that we lived in Roatan, Honduras which is a Caribbean island about 100 miles south of Cozumel, Mexico. It is a beautiful island with over 200 dive and snorkel sites. Many cruise boats visit each week.
About 7 months ago we moved to Medellin, Colombia. You probably heard all about Pablo Escobar and the Cocaine Cartels, but that was many years ago. Medellin today is a city of about 3 million people with first class health care and public transportation, wonderful food, world-famous coffee and amazing weather. We walk everywhere. We have two large malls within two blocks of our apartment. And there are at least 200 restaurants within 5 blocks.
In future blogs, I will try to share more about our "retirement adventures". And I encourage you to consider retiring outside the U.S. There are so many advantages, and the best one is that it is so much fun!
