10 Cheapest and Best Countries Blog

I'm in the middle of my longest blog so far. It is fun, but also challenging. It started with a keyword "10 cheapest countries to retire". According to Jaaxy, this phrase had 354 average searches yet only 4 QSR! Since we are US citizens retired outside the USA, this seemed like a great thing for me to write.

The research started with reading lots of articles on Google. I narrowed these rating/type articles to the 4 best. Then I found Cost-of-living statistics on Numbeo.com. After a lot of thought I created a spreadsheet, created a column for 15 countries before narrowing to the top 10. Then i started entering the ratings and Cost of Living % info.

As I researched and thought about how wide this was, and since I have lived or visited in 6 Latin American Countries, I decided I had to narrow the search. And that gave me the rest of my title. "10 Cheapest Countries to Retire Without Leaving the Americas". I eventually narrowed my search to 10, and started writing.

Four countries done, Six more to go. Total word count so far - 1,911. Approximately 1,100 to go to make at least 3,000. And this is the first post I've done with a Table of Contents.

7 Total Images including the feature image above. That is the skyline of Panama City, Panama. I'll probably add another 10 images.

Spoiler alert - Number 1 is Ecuador. We lived in Cuenca, Ecuador for 3 months.

Thanks for listening

Steve

Thanks Steve for sharing.
All the best with your post

3,040 words, 10 images, and still two more countries to go. Have to finish this tomorrow and get back on the SAC.

Yeeey! Almost done ✅
Great job 👏

Hi Steve
Thanks for including the link to Numbeo - what an awesome website to refer people to, who ask about the living costs in any country. A real gem - saved!
Wishing you an awesome day, Steve!

That sounds like a great post. Lots of folks will be interested, I'd think. Good on ya for finding such a good, lengthy topic.

A topic I follow closely! We think we are staying put here in NM but I'm less sure of that than my husband is.

Well my brother thank, you for this article. I think I will also fracture in the safest cheapest country hahaha , may you have a blessed day my friend. Tthank you for your time in this article and the article to come.

Thank you for your post Steve. Have you spent any time in Costa Rica? I have been doing some research on expats retiring there. Specifically along the North West Coast.

Yes, we have been through Costa Rica many times, and we actually lived in San Jose for a month. It is number 5 on my list, mostly because everything is more expensive there, especially automobiles. And that Northwest Coastal area is the most expensive part to live. I have a tiny joke - they call that area the "gold coast" because you need a lot of gold to live there!
