affiliate is asking to meta tag my homepage to prove I own the website

I had to do this to prove ownership of a site to an affiliate network. Your suggestion worked! Thank you

Go to WP dashboard – Appearance – Editor. On the right side, you’ll see Templates and below that you’ll see Theme Header, click on that and paste your code in the box before the end of the body, it looks like this

Hope this helps =)

Awesome thank you yes that's helpful. Blessings

You're most welcome.

This has been boggling me for hours i have done on my previous site exactly the same way but completely forgot how to do it haha.

Thank you for the info, I am received now :-)

Have a great day and take care.

Kind regards.

Dean.

affiliate is asking for company name is it the same as my website name

You can typically use your personal name as your company name if you don't have an LLC or other legal entity formed. You can also use your SSN in place of an EID.

If you are a sole proprietor (just yourself), you can either use your website name, or come up with a generic "umbrella" name that you use and then have your various brands (websites). You should be able to apply for a tax ID number as an individual in your state. It may cost money. I have a tax ID in Illinois, and it was free. I am not an accountant, and you should check with a tax professional that is familiar with the laws in your state.

Ok thank you very much. Some sites ask for s.s.# just wondering if its safer to get a business tax id

Yes, I did for that reason. So I wouldn't have to give out my SSN.

sweet thank you very much

the choices are cpa. Cpm.cpc fixed or revshare

Technically everything here falls under the category of CPA (cost per acquisition). Pay per sale, pay per click, etc... They're all CPA.

This isn't a question you need to answer at this stage of your business. You'll have a MUCH better idea of what products/services your audience will find helpful after you focus on your content, building a community, and are receiving traffic. And you'll likely not stick to just one - most affiliate websites that are established use several different affiliate offers that are all paying separately.

Try not to focus on monetizing until you have something to monetize (a great library of content, an existing community, and regular traffic). Otherwise you're just spending energy on something that's not relevant as of right now.

It depends on the affiliate site and what you think will bring you the most profit....I like revshare

It's hay house publishing. Not sure what they mean I know revshare is revenue sharing which sounds good to me thanks for replying

This might help....remember you are the publisher and the people you are selling on behalf of are the advertisers (CPA is revshare)

CPM stands for "cost per 1,000". This type of ad campaign is purely based on numbers, with the cost of the ad determined for 1,000 page impressions (each time the ad is shown). An advertiser using such ads will be quoted a guaranteed number of page impressions for the ad, and then the cost will be set based on the number. For example, if an ad site has a CPM rate of $10 US Dollars (USD) and guarantees 100,000 page impressions for the ad, the cost to the advertiser will be $1,000 USD ($10 x 100). Publishers are paid a share of the revenue generated by the site selling the ads, which is usually around 45% or $450 USD for 100,000 page impressions from our previous example.

CPC stands for "cost per click" and, in this case, the publisher is paid each time a visitor clicks the ad being displayed, delivering the visitor to the advertiser’s website. No matter what action is taken at the advertiser’s website, all that matters with this cost model is that the ad was clicked. The companies that sell this type of ad also monitor the number of clicks the ad gets, preventing the publisher from artificially inflating the number to try to generate revenue. The pay rate for CPC ads ranges from a few cents to a few dollars, depending on what the advertiser has paid to have the ad displayed.

Cost per lead (CPL) is often used by companies that want to have visitors sign up for something, called a lead. The ads can be banners, hyperlinks leading to the advertiser’s website, or both. When a user enters his or her e-mail address to sign up for the offer, the publisher is paid a certain dollar amount. Pay rates for CPL ads also range from a few cents to several dollars, but are usually much higher than CPC ads. The rate is determined by the business and what the advertiser is willing to pay.

CPA, or "cost per acquisition/action," is similar to CPL in that the advertiser pays when a visitor takes a particular action upon arrival at the advertiser’s site. Again, these ads can be banners or hyperlinks leading directly to the website. The advertiser decides on the payable action, which might include downloading a game or program, purchasing an ebook, joining a course, or something else. The payout is determined by what is involved in the payable action and how much effort is required for the advertiser to make a profit, with rates ranging from cents to tens of dollars.

awesome thank you that was helpful. see you around the water cooler.

Thanks for information JasonGB.
