Another Twitter Milestone
All of a sudden at the evening my wife Theresa said "It looks like we are getting a lot of followers suddenly".
The next morning (this morning) we had reached over a 1000 followers on Twitter.
I am not exactly sure what happened so quickly, but I think it was some important group or person that re-tweeted one of our tweets and a good percentage of their followers followed us in return (as well as liked our post with picture).
So we posted a thank you image with some simple text on it to thank everybody for following us and supporting us.
It shows me that what we are doing is really working and that one little post can have a lot of effect. In the same way can one article you publish have a bunch of visitors just like one picture on Twitter can give you a lot of followers.
What we are learning here at WA really works and you better just keep doing that!

Thank you. Yeah I think it is going well with the social media. Just have to concentrate on posts at the moment and then the next goal can be met.

Your orange tabby looks just like mine...we call him Tigger but that isn't his real name. Your grey one looks just like our girl who we believe is a French Chartreux. They are all rescued. It's cool to see another pair of kitties that look like ours!
I just surpassed 1,000 followers on Twitter recently as well. I have found Twitter to be the easier social media to use.
We should definitely follow each others Twitter from eachothers Twitter account (if we aren't already) as well as our personal twitter accounts and google plus accounts.
Believe all our cats are rescue cases yes. Tabby just walked up to our house, but I believe that is also a rescue case as it was a kitten at the time. Probably dumped in our neighbourhood (nature). All the others come from animal protection services.
The grey one was found near a fuel station at the highway. Totally feral when it arrived, now a cuddly cat. Our orange Tabby or Tiger rather is a real red cat.. enough said. Saved him from being shot.

Ours is a red tiger too. They seem to really be one of the sweetest kinds of cats. I can't check to find you on Twitter etc. now since I am at work but I will later.
I mostly spend my time on Twitter retweeting cats (and dogs) that need to be rescued ASAP from kill shelters that only have a day or two left. It gets so depressing. So many cats are dumped due to people moving or whatever reason. They will only have a few days to get rescued before they are put down. Then there are all those found on the street injured and sick. I am appalled at how far the U.S. needs to come in terms of caring for animals in this way.
So I post about 80% on these pets that need homes and then the other 20% other good content I want to retweet and my own.

Great job. As said before, my wife handles the whole Twitter acount. She has now managed to get over 2000 followers, really amazing.
She shares and retweets stuff for 80% then posts 15% photo's of our kitties and foster kitties and uses maybe 5% on tweeting website content.
Social media is very much about sharing and caring about other people before posting about yourself.
Here in Norway we only have volunteer organisations that collect money from whoever wants to donate. The money is used on fostercare (food and litter for those who take care of cats in fostercare) and vet bills for spaying, neutering, operations, healthcare and the occasional put down after detection of hazard disease.
We are volunteering foster-parents too. We just got an adoption again so now we are empty on foster and awaiting new project(s).
