Server Not Found Error

Hi folks, please tell me how to fix the broken link with "Server Not Found" error. I have checked in WA search and also Youtube, but find no clear answer.

What do I edit in the actual broken link?

I would have pasted a screenshot of this for you to see, but I'm not sure how to relocate the screenshot using this mac.

I'd love to hear from you regarding this, as I have quite a few of these broken links to edit or fix.

Thanks in advance.

hey hi Stella -- don't panic!

you've done a good job just by asking the question ...

as you may know, server upgrades & maintenance is being done ... it could be so many things ... the ol' internet connection, too....

perhaps you've already tried a re-boot? ....

if the condition persists, then a consult with our Super Site Support may be the ticket ... and they would of course like to see a screenshot with url info ... or as much detailed info. as possible to assist you ...

and just so you know, my laptop has been having connectivity (upload) issues for the past week or so ... and what a frost! ...

hope it gets all sorted out for you soon .... :)

Thanks for the encouragement.

I have asked Support and have to contact the developer...(Broken Link Checker that is).

... hope it all works out well for you, Stella! ...

appreciate you letting us know of your progress with it ...

vital to keep well, keep happy!

cheerio ... ⭐️😊⭐️🎈

I have no idea but will be watching for those that do know to answer. Knowledge is always useful.
I don't suppose you can just replace the whole link can you?

I am not sure what to do...I also have connection failed messages. This prbably means that the external link to other sites I want to connect to, is not working.

I am not sure whether to delete the links or not.

If its only just happened it could be because of an upgrade like Keisha says.
Ask site support and see what they say.

Just found these for you. Hope they help.

Entire screen for screenshot on a Mac:
To capture the entire screen, press Command-Shift-3. The screen shot will be automatically saved as a PNG file on your desktop with the filename starting with “Picture” followed by a number, example Picture 1, Picture 2, and so on.
To copy the entire screen, press Command-Control-Shift-3.

Where do I find my screenshots on a Mac?
Open Finder and click on "All My Files," and then change the way files are sorted to Date Created. Any new screenshots should show up at the very beginning. You can use use Spotlight to search for "Screen Shot." If this still doesn't work, look at your keyboard shortcut settings to make sure it hasn't been changed.

For a laptop, it is on the right upper part beside F12. Paste it on your Paint use Control V. From your paint save it and get from there. I hope it will work.- Florentino

Thanks,

I am using a Mac.

It would appear that your domain may not be setup correctly or Wordpress settings are incorrect. Assuming it is in Wordpress and only some / not all links are broken, it may be that you changed the Slug that appears in the top section of the edit screen ... if this is modified after the post has been published any previous links will no longer work. Without a screen shot and the url to see these it is hard to diagnose.

H Allan,

I've just noticed this comment....Could it be that I have to check all the links on my site as I always tweak my posts after publishing...?

There are 13 broken links that I haven't fixed yet...I'm not sure what to do and have just edited the link and checked it - most of seem to be working fine from my end.

However, how do I know it is working from others people's computers unless I use Site Feedback or Comments?

Kindly advise as you really seem to understand what took place with the 404 and also - 503.

Thanks in advance,

Stella

Yes, it is a good idea to check your links on your website ... go through each of the broken links ... if you go to the page it is supposed to link to you will see the URL for that page. Copy this url and use that for the link in your article ... then test once you save the changes.
