Hello everyone,

I'm seeking some advice for a peculiar issue I've encountered with my well-established website (8years old), which generally ranks easily in the top spot

Yeah, it's a weird thing. Sometimes stuff just doesn't rank, and there seems to be no reason at all. One thing to do is to look at the top 10 spots and see how their content differs from yours. It may give you insight into what google is looking for in terms of an answer to the query/keyword. You may be answering the question on your terms, but it may differ from what Google is looking for.

Thanks, Nathaniel! You are right; it's bizarre! Some of those ranking high don't even have the keyword I am targeting... There is a significant flaw in Google's ability to understand what people want to know and show the most suitable answer - sometimes, it's intentional. They really want to push stuff people are not looking for but may benefit some big fish out there. But anyway, what can we do? Should we spend time trying to please them without guarantees or use that time to craft another article? I tend to choose the second option.

It's hard to say, really. It's all about experimentation, which can be frustrating. Sometimes I spend a large amount of time making a "perfect" article, and it doesn't rank. Other times, I push one out in 1-2 hours, and it ranks. Sometimes the posts that outrank me are definitely better, and I can learn from them. Other times it's pure garbage and I question Google's ranking methodology.

You just have to decide in your mind which posts are worth tweaking and updating in an effort to rank, and which ones aren't worth the effort. In addition, which posts to you are important for your readers to be "top tier" quality, and which ones are just good enough for the time being.

Perfect ! I totally agree! Most of the times I just ignore it and move one.... But it's really annoying to put in the effort for nothing.

First, I'd look in Google Search Console under indexing issues. They have an area where they show pages that have been crawled but haven't been indexed with the reason why.

If you can't find it there, I'd type the targeted keyword in the Google Search bar and see if they mention that some pages have been excluded. Most of the time they mention why that is.

Hello, and thanks for your help! The page is indexed correctly. However, my post doesn't appear in the search results when I search on Google using my target keyword. Interestingly, I did discover my Archive page where Google seems to have recognized the keyword, but not in the specific post. Strangely, when I use quotes to search for the exact keyword, my post does show up, and it's the only one with that exact term. Scrolling to the bottom, I noticed this:

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 38 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

I clicked the link, and again, the post was nowhere to be found.

Ooh, wait I misunderstood the quotes part. This means it'll only appear for the exact keyword.

When you put it without quotation marks it'll also pull results from websites that share some of the words in your long-tail keywords but not all of them.

Google likely sees that website as a better fit for all combinations.

Some of my pages have the same problem.

I suspect this might be an E-EAT thing.

I'm not sure though. I'm in the middle of testing some things out to see what happens.

You have given you some very good advice and guidance here…let us know if you have any further questions.

-Mike

Hey Stefan,

What a great question, and thank YOU for posting this.

Knowing so many others may wonder the same thing, and wanting to provide the membership with the best advice available I asked ChatGPT.

The screen print below is the response...

Hope you find this helpful.

Thank you, but I am confident none of these recommendations apply. It 's something that doesn't make any sense.... It feels like a technical error or something. I rank for hundred of posts, and I know their potential compared to the competition.

Hi - yes, I believe you have answered your own question!

If some posts cover the same topic, regardless of whether the keyword is different, Google will only rank one of them, whichever one it believes will best meet the searcher's intent.

I got it! However, the similar product which í already reviewed is not shown on the sets either. So, its a very strange behaviour.

initially what i have to do

Hi there Stefan,

I hope you're doing well, I can't directly answer your question. However, I have clicked on the direct link to the banner and they load absolutely fine. (I have tried several) Have you tried pasting the code into your website to see if they work on a webpage?

I hope that you can get to the bottom of the issue.

Have a great day.

Roy

Thank you, so this is probably on my end. No because i would like to copy the banner manually instead of adding the code.

Have a nice day too

Good afternoon Stefan,

Thank you for your reply, I hope you have been able to achieve the necessary.

On another note, I have just read your profile, well done and congratulations on all your hard work. It looks like you are really getting there and making good progress. Have you left your job yet?

I'm potentially in the process of selling my offline business so that I can focus more online. I am making money, however, I know I can make a lot more online if I am given the time to take action. At present my offline business takes a lot of my time.

I wish you all the best and even more success.

Roy

well, lets say I have a posts and its getting organic traffic. Now I set up a bing ad and then start getting traffic from ads.

What's the best way to know how many peopl

You should be able to see all conversions and interactions in BING webmasters control panel

Does bing identify clicks on my affiliate links? Thank you

If you are talking about WA bootcamp site then you need to use WA tracking system and it's explained in Bootcamp training. If you are talking about niche site you need to find some other program to track your conversions with bing. Just do some research and you will find.

Thanks rufat,. I Will do that,

Hi guys, Adsense rejected for the third time because of insufficient content. Even though mu site has over 200 posts.

I just placed t

You haven't given a link to your website so I can't check it out for you. Perhaps navigating your site is the issue here. Do you have a sitemap? Do you have a menu that makes it easy to find all your content?

Thanks Marion, here is my site myroomismyoffice.com. Maybe there is something missing I am not aware of.

I see no reason why Adsense would reject your website. The only things I can suggest is that you add your categories to your main drop down menu to make navigation a bit easier and change your home page to a blogroll. It could be that they don't like your static home page which could be considered a big ad for WA.

Hi Marion,

Adsense has accepted my application after I made the changes you suggested!

Thank you so much!
I also want to say thank you to everyone who tried to help me with this issue.
Now, let's see what happens! :)

I can see you've got the Adsense ads on your website now. Well done!

I've never had any issues with Google adsense. You can call their representative and ask the reason. They will explain.

I will try to contact them for sure. Thanks rufat

They did the very same to me Stefan. With the little they pay and the mess their ads make to sites, I consider myself fortunate that they disqualified my site.

Hi Stefaan, perhaps this is just a careless formulation by somebody from their side. I assume this is about affiliate marketing and they might feel they have no much stuff to advertise on such a site although this sounds impossible. It is hard to contact them, I experienced this earlier.

I do not understand the second paragraph. You mean the code for verification I guess. If they already replied they must have inspected it.

Do you have some other site? If so try with it. Then you will always be able to add another property (site) to your account, without applying again. If you do not have any, start some Amazon site, this may be good for a change.

There are some boot camp sites with Adsense and I wanted to test as I get around 1200 visits per day. I wanted to test.

Unfortunately, don't have another site to apply.

Yes the code for verification. They checked the site very quickly and om the same day they concluded that I didn't have enough content.

I heard that Adsense accept site with 3000 and above of monthly traffic. Could traffic be a reason why they rejected your site

No this cannot be the reason. My site was accepted in early stages with a few tens of visitors per day.

Pity, with such a traffic you would be earning a few hundred $ for sure. Try to get to them to tell you more. This all makes no sense. Tell them about the traffic if you have a chance. See Nathaniell's blog a few days ago, same problem with some other network.

Thanks Jovo, yeah. It's a waste of money. At least I need to try and see if affiliate promotion plus AdSense will increase revenue. I am confident it will. I will try to contact them after Marion take a look at my site. I hope it works! Than ks a lot

Why do not you use Amazon CPM Ads instead? It generates more income for me than Adsense, I have both.

Thanks Jovo, I will check that out because I think I don't have much hope with Adsense.

Look what one guy said in the help forum:

"Insufficient Content" is often interpreted as "not enough", but that isn't always the case. It can also mean not high enough quality content, not unique enough content, not the right type of content (as far as subject matter) or in any other way "insufficient" for acceptance into the AdSense program.

This isn't always an indictment of the web site as a whole, just a decision by AdSense that they are not going to include the site into the AdSense ecosystem because it's not going to ad value for the advertisers of AdWords. The reasons could be as simple as your site doesn't have enough content (the typical interpretation) or they already have enough web sites that cover your subject matter...or anything in between.

In other words, it could be for n reasons, and they won't tell me the real issue.

Yes Stefaan, it is best to move on and try this another system. You have a great traffic and it is a pity not to use ads.

Thanks. Does mean my site will have Amazon affiliate links? I have just signed up and they say I must drive at least one sale within 180 days in order to be eligible for the program.

I already had negative ranking results including affiliate links on 2 posts. I am afraid to include Amazon links on my sidebar, which means I will have 1 affiliate link in every post I make.

My all sites are full of Amazon links, this has no effect on ranking, well over 50% are ranked on the top page. My best selling posts are with lists of items, which means every item has a link (at least one).

Those 180 days are standard procedure. So you are in the system and should be able to use CPM ads.

Do not worry about sidebar, Google is clever enough to distinguish things.

I understand. My Amazon account doesn't have the CPM option. I have no idea why

menu

Perhaps related with those 180 days. I have added it much later to my sites. This is not good. Sorry for the disappointment. Perhaps you might ask them, contrary to Adsense, they have several channels for contact.

I wish I knew what to tell ya!

In the training, when I went through it, adsense would not even allow me to sign up for it. I tried and tried and finally gave up. Glad I did, because later on I learned I didn't want it anyway. I had went through one of the live trainings here with Jay, and at that point it was clear to me that is was not worth the hassle. =)

Wishing you the best.

I would not agree. If you have thousands of people on your site every day, this can be a full-time income.

I know people who earn 500-600/month easily, so I would not call this a hassle. This is the easiest income you can imagine.

It ca. Give a good income as jovo explained. You can earn more with affiliate marketing, but I wanted to make a test as my traffic doesn't convert so well as I wished.

That's good to know info. Thanks for sharing. No experience here other than other people's advice, experience, and for some unknown reason, not being able to get signed up to even request it for my own use. I kept trying to create the account, but it would not allow me.

I have truly heard a lot of negative things about it, and very little positive. So, I'm glad to hear some more positive =). Maybe I will try again sometime.

Thanks again for sharing.
