Amazon Affiliate Blues - Round Number One
So for some reason, I was checking out my settings in my existing Amazon affiliate settings. There was a misspelling in my website address. I corrected that. Beeeg mistake!! After I had entered my corrected website address, they sent me an email and said they could no longer find the old address and that they had closed my affiliate account!! OMG!! I had just started getting clicks and had gotten one affiliate sale! So, as it turns out, I now have to go into every page, and every post that I have Amazon links to and correct the affiliate link name. Sigh!! They advised they will pay my commission, but cannot transfer the account settings to my new affiliate account. The good thing is, the problem is now resolved, and moving forward, hopefully this will not happen again.....grumble, grumble. Attention to detail dear readers, attention to detail!

Yeah, it did seem like a big deal, but hey, time well spent. Maybe I can use Yoast and up my content or SEO. It could be worse :-)

You must have been near hysterical? I know I would have been! The internet is fraught with danger...there are land mines everywhere......just when you've avoided one, you step back on another one. Still I suppose this adds to our wisdom........
Yikes! Sorry. What a hassle. I understand. My first sale through Amazon was denied after they flagged it. They thought it looked like someone had ordered something on my behalf. This was not the case but there was nothing I could do. They will not pay me a commission on anything that person buys in the future either which is a bummer since she is buying this every month for her cats.
