New Year, New You
We are now 20 days into 2020. How is that New Year, New YOU project coming along?
I am sure some of you will feel no different, while some may be busy with what you are doing and others the engine has not warm up yet.
Hey, it is what it is. We CANNOT change the 20 days that just passes us. But we still have the entire year ahead and I want to encourage you in your New YOU journey.
Setup a Habit Calendar as a daily, weekly and monthly checklist
What are the new positive habits you want to develop? Write it down. Then, put it in your calendar so it will remind you and for you to see tangible progress.
Spread it out into daily, weekly and monthly checklist.
You can schedule your training, writing, website maintenance as habits for your online business.
You can schedule your exercise and eating plan as habits to achieve your health goals.
Use a Productivity Journal for sorting out your priorities and monitor completion so you don't overload yourself
Use your planner, diary or whatever you are familiar with, whether digital or traditional, it does not matter. What matters if you use it to sort out your daily and weekly priorities.
A little tweak to make this an enhanced "To-Do" list.
Then you can use that same list as a checklist to see what you get done.
This will help you plan the next week better. The idea is to be efficient and productive and not to overload yourself with unrealistic workload. This will discourage you and wear you out.
Remember, this is a marathon.
Create a Post-It notes calendar that may motivate you with extra effort
Use a simple poster type calendar with 12 monthly boxes. Then write on post-it notes your main goals.
Example - Goal is to read 12 business books - 1 per month
Prepare the title of each book and write into post-it note and stick on the calendar, one per month. Remove it after you are read the book.
You can then add other goals using a different color post-it note.
This way a single calendar reminds you daily all the goals your have set for the year and how much you have accomplished.
I find the traditional method much better because if it is on the wall, I have to eyeball it all the time. Serves as a more effective reminder than hidden digitally.
Get going with your New Year, New YOU journey!
I hope the above three simple tips can help you to take the small steps necessary for the BEST YOU in 2020.
Cheers,
