Is Less More?
In any business, once you get started, there is a tendency to do more.
There Is So Much To Do
Here, in WA, more means
- Write more content
- Do more marketing
- Add more social media channels
- Increase affiliate programs
If we are not careful, we may collapse under the weigh of this business. One reason people quit the business.
One Step At A Time
It is best to ask yourself what is the ONE goal you need to achieve now.
- Is it to complete the training?
- Is it to build your website so all the basics are completed?
- Is it to apply to an affiliate program
- Is it to publish sufficient content?
I know there are "home run" hitters out there but getting to "first base" is a significant step when getting started.
Don't worry about Google Analytics or Adsense when your website is new and has little traffic.
Focus on creating honey to attract the bees first.
Then learn what is the next trigger to push.
Less Is More
Less is really more if you are achieving the near term goals which would lead to building a strong foundation for a profitable niche site.
Get it done, then get it right! in the following order (some overlap):
- Get your niche website up
- Populate it with sufficient content, most here believe the goal to be 30 blogs
- Apply to affiliate programs (you can start when your site has all the basics up with about 10 - 15 articles)
- Find ONE social media platform where your target audience hang out that you can leverage to drive traffic in addition to SEO.
Sustainability is key, as pilot Joe like to say, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

I'm at my small step now to go back to my previous posts to fix image size, add meaningful alt text and title to the images, add internal and external links, add keyword to featured image and update the meta title and description. Want to get my basics right...

So less is more. More or less. I try to keep up with the overwhelming flow of information and I keep hopping back and forth from learning one thing to trying to learn another at the same time.
Maybe I expect too much. I look at my site and think it looks good the I see somebody else's site that looks so much better that it's like comparing a DaVinci painting to a cave drawing. Then I find out what tools they used and try to learn to use them,
To me, all of it is important but I need to remember that the main reason I am here is to make money. I need to identify that path an stick to it. I can learn the other things in my spare time as time goes on.

You added value to my day through the reading of your post. So much to do and plan for. I may have to go through the training again as I feel like I forget so much. I do better when I take notes on what I am learning even if I never look at the notes again!

Yes, we need to go back to the relevant some modules since we cannot do all at once. I do that too.
