I got rejected! Yes, my final affiliate application got rejected.

No, I am not upset since I have appliance programs approved to proceed to build income streams for my niche.

So, time to move forward with those that approve me as an affiliate.

I learn that merchants have mastered the art of rejection by telling you many reasons' why you were rejected except the ACTUAL reason.

For that, you have to "go figure it out" yourself.

For those affiliate applications that was rejected, here are the reasons' given.

  • The website is not associated with the applicant’s name
  • The website has significant advertising, void of any other significant value to site visitors
  • The website is flagged for suspicious behavior by one or more major spyware/malware detectors
  • The website is under construction, has long load times, or presents other functionality problems
  • The website contains misleading offers or attempts to trick visitors into sharing personally identifiable information.
  • The website is not relevant to "Affiliate Conpany's" product or audience
  • Promotional methods listed are not in compliance with program guidelines

I am sharing my experience with so that we can be mindful and prepare ourselves and websites before applying to any affiliate program.

Wish you a great weekend.

Cheers,

Thank you Stanley, I have been stuck on level 3 at the early stages of training for ages as I feel I will be rejected from the company or affiliate programs. I wonder how many posts I need on my websites to apply, as each application to be an affiliate has lots of questions. One person says after rejection just move onto the next thing, which is fine but there are certain products I am really keen to promote so don't want to be rejected. I am not keen on Amazon but even they need to know you have a good website with good traffic?

First, get your basic website up with the essentials, about, privacy policy, contact and affiliate disclosure etc.

Add some content which clearly shows your niche and target market.

That should be enough to start applying to some relevant affiliate programs.

Small print in affiliate programs is notoriously difficult to read, and sometimes even find! To be honest, it is way too much effort to read it usually. We all know that they all have very similar principles etc.

It's often easy to just apply and if you get rejected move on to the next one with no hard-feelings or feelings of discontent. Unless you specifically want to target that particular program and then it's worth spending the time doing the research and reading the small print etc.

Ha! Ha! You are right about the fine print being tiny. Wonder why?

This reminds me of my favorite part in the movie "Meet the Robinsons"
The main character Lewis' invention just destroyed the whole room and he looks around at his brand new friends like he will get punished.
One character shouts "Hooray! YOU FAILED!!" and everyone erupts in celebration!
Another character says "From failure you learn; from success, not so much"
Thank you for sharing so we can all grow with you!

There is some wisdom in that statement. When we fail, we reflect and learn. When we are successful, we celebrate and party!

There are ShareASale advertisers that have instant approval.

Even if not instant approval, most commission advertisers freely approve.

Most look at what kind of traffic you have and amount of monthly visits.

Most sites that have controversial content are not approved. MOstly with explicit sexual matters, religious or political.

If you want to monetize your website try to never have controversial material in any content.

Advertisers want to always have a positive image. Controversial content won't give that image.

Great additional pointers to note. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, Stanley.

First I want to say, I'm glad you have been approved by other affiliate programs but sad you got rejected on one.

Having said that, I'm super thrilled your spirit is up. This just goes to show you're definitely not a quitter.

I also appreciate you sharing the reasons why the rejection. The information is very helpful for me and for anyone wanting to apply to an affiliate program.

All the best to you!

Thank you.

Monica

You are right, Monica. If we view rejection as part of the process, then we just accept it and move forward. It is not failure but maybe a speed bump or a little detour in our journey.
