when choosing a brandable domain name is It necessary to use words that are spelled correctly or is it ok to spell words like biz or bizy or qwic in the name?

anything goes. The aim is to get some name that is rememberable and sticks to people's memory. Too whacky however, sounds unprofessional.

Thanks for the tips guys!

I would advice you go with grammatically correct English words, however sometimes that's not possible as domains have been already taken.

You could try namemesh.com to find ideas via their SEO and MIX columns.

Also you would want something perhaps memorable, you can use Go daddy valuation tool to find something memorable.

Ideally, you want to use the correct spellings & more so for brandable because you want to make it easy to spread via word of mouth.

But when it comes to words like "biz", they're generally fine as they spell as they sound. The problem is when you have words like "kwik" and "quick". I'd avoid those (unless using the correct spelling, of course).
