Learn about social networking . whether you want to or not!
Hello fellow affiliates,
Confession: I'm one of those people who hates social networking in real life. I don't have a Facebook, and I use Twitter just for the news. I communicate with friends in person, by emails, and over video calls. So naturally I found myself grumbling at Course 4 when I saw the subject matter (which, for those of you not there yet, is SOCIAL NETWORKING) and I distracted myself for a whole week elsewhere.
Today I came to terms with the need for social networking for business. Why?
My blog had its most views in a day when a friend promoted it on her Facebook page. Nothing I can do (at this early stage) with SEO can replicate that. Like it or not, them's the facts.
I put on my big girl pants and forced myself to sign up for all the services. I still feel reluctant to build out Facebook, but it will be done soon. The other social network platforms have a decent foundation, and are now incorporated into my site.
I have been simultaneously developing three different niche websites against all good advice. And I have ideas and purchased domains for three more. Course 4 forced me to be honest with myself and just go with the one that I've put the most into...because, no, I don't feel like creating 8 more social networking accounts at this moment in time. I will have to eventually, yes, but it's too much to ask of my poor interneted-out self right now. Time for a cookie :)

Thanks for your honesty. I'm not there in the training but I'll also have to build up my social networking. My involvement here at WA has shown how beneficial can be. Continued good luck. Debbie
I have 4 up in the works. A copywriting site and a n affiliate site live. A disability related formal niche site and a hobby site in the works!
Cool! The ones I want to develop (but haven't, yet) are sites about cooking, tuxedo cats, and coffee. I may also start one about tall men's shoes and designer luggage (both interests of my husband, who I will farm for content of course)
A social media presence also helps our websites look more professional, but sometimes I really hate spending the time keeping those accounts up.
I also have been struggling with too many niches...hoping to get to the point where I can have other people write the content for the first one I started and focus more on the second.
Ah, a fellow over-nicher! Yeah, it makes sense that the social networking helps our biz look more established. I have to keep telling myself that!

I like your style Stephanie, what a great blog. You probably described the same exact way many feel, but you were honest about it. That's what I love about it, thanks for just being you!!
Aw thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
