I cant see any real time data on my google analytics account though Im on my own site. "zero active users'

have you added your property without the www
copy and paste your exact web address from your site into notepad and see if it ties up exactly with the property you entered.
your last image in the other thread showed www.sitename - i don't think you need the www.
so just https://sitename
they are seen as different properties by google.

I changed my site Domain in SEO to just read mygreatguitar.com without the www.

Did you mean to change that in Google or just in SEO ?

add another property to your google analytics - when you do - copy and paste from your homepage url to get it exactly

This is what I have. Made some changes last night but still no data, even in live data when im on my own site. Unsure what to try next

Done. Gave me another tracking code

i think once it is logged in google it is logged as the original
i would add another property as your non www version
i have a property with www, non www and http so don't worry - you will need to add the new number ( it will probably be -2) and either add into the all in one or add it to ad inserter with the gts code as shown in my traning

that will need to be added to your site

I can do that, unsure why the first number isn't working tho

Have you connected your site with Google Analytics? Did you include the identification code in All-in-one-SEO plugin?

yes and yes

I did a test of my site and got :

No data received in past 48 hours

It shows zero visitors to my site since I set it up last month. Clearly Ive missed something

Hey Paul,

The following tutorial may provide you with the help you seek: Hope you find this helpful.

Have you verified your website with All in One SEO?

How can I do that ?

Go to Admin menu in your GA account (at the very bottom in the left-hand menu), click on "Property Settings", find Tracking ID. Copy it. Go to Wordpress -> All in One SEO plugin, general setting. Find the 'Google Analytics' section and paste your Tracking ID to "Google Analytics ID". Don't forget to save changes!

I've described the process here: https://livewealthyretirement.com/how-to-start-seo-for-a-new-website#GA

Not seeing myself logged in on google analytics though I've set up an account w google

Just read this - I have the same problem. No views recorded even if I know that there's been a few at least. Did you get your problem solved and if so, how?

jump down to the bottom of the comments - there is a way to test whether you have it setup correctly
others have setup their site as http rather than https and google has tried ot send data but failed as it is the wrong property
give it a try and see if ti works
phil

Hi Phil - thanks for a quick reply, much appreciated. I have checked that I have used the https and not including the www. in the URL. I used the MonsterInsights installer for GA (Although, I first tried the AIO version shown by Kyle). I can't see myself if I enter the site. Will it take time for it to deliver the numbers (like within 24-48 hours after installation) or should it work instantly?

I now tried to run a test via the GAChecker.com site (not sure if you know this site, I just found it). It states that I have installed the "Universal Analytics" but no "Global Site Tag", "Analytics Classics" or "Analytics Remarketing". The latter is probably irrelevant given I have no ads on my site, but maybe the Global Site Tag is an issue? I don't know what it means ;-)

you are jumping around a bit.
keep it simple
in my training i use ad inserter to add the google tag.
sending the test traffic in google - it opens your home page in a new window ( leave that one open) and google wil lsend one visitor almost immediately ( or within a couple of minute )
if your home page doesn't open then there is a problem.
never used gachecker, but wil lhave a look
take the simple approach and try the ga and search console tools.

It says my website is not receiving any hits

whats your url - will jump on there

www.mygreatguitar.com

Its shows nothing when I'm on there. Can't figure it out

you haven't set anything up to ignore your ip address

What can I do ?

did you find the send test traffic button?
if you go to search console are you verified
how loing is it since you set it up

Yes I sent test trafiic, it said pending .. I set it up last month

Where do I find search console ?

Found it. Says this :
No hits ..

how long ago did you set it up
it takes a few days to see any info
you should have someone on there now....

if you click on admin
then tracking info
then tracking code
at the top is a send test traffic to test whether it has been set up correctly -try that

Sent test. Got this :

your traffic will appear just above or below the test button - it wil lsay something like 1 visitor on your site.
but you should be able to see me on there
and don't forget to use the realtime menu
then content
and you should have a visitor

Says : Status
No data received in past 48 hours

how did you set it up?
using the all in one seo or with a plugin for the head section?

AIO I think, cant remember

i know the training i did does work - do you want to try that and see if it makes any difference

Watching. Thank you

saw what it was last night but missed it....
when you submitted your site to google you started with the www.
your site doesn't have this
you will need to go through the verification process again - as you will be given a new suffix
but add another property by opening your home page and copy and paste that address into google analytics - you may need to remove the https:// at the start - but it probably will be without the www.
add the new number to your site and go to search console and verify.
you should start to get some data through now.
good luck
phil

if you open a new privacy browser window then goto your site you should see yourself
alternatively withing ga is a button for test traffic
from what i remember go to admin
in the center panel click on verification
then verify code in left hand pane
in the center panel you get the option to send test traffic - you only get one traffic and it ma take a time but it proves it works.
good luck
phil

How can I create Home, About, Blog, Contact links from my site ? Haven't set them up yet on my posts and so they don't work.

I think you are talking about the header menu of Wordpress. You don't set them in posts. Create a page for each, then Go into Appearance -> Menus in your Wordpress backoffice.

Hi Paul,

Your profile indicates that you have not done any training yet! Is that right? If so, get into that and you'll find you way through tools and techniques for attracting attention to your site. I'm talk about things like creating a social media presence for yourself on Face Book, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit and so on so that you can link your posts and so forth over to those locations, and draw traffic back.

Also, when you go to public forums and other blogs, you can provide links in your comments back to your website.

Another thing is to check that you are "centralizing" your main offering using multiple links to it from other posts rather than having each one of your posts contain links to that same offering. Google doesn't like that much.

Also, writing posts that have links to external sources of information is something that Google likes to see. A few of those in each post indicates your level of authority and validation of opinion based on outside facts/reference sources.

Advertising and creating youtube videos with links back is also a way to go.

And of course, it help to get other members to go to your website and provide site comments where you can respond and get short discussions going about your posts. Google loves that too.

You profile here doesn't show the link to your website.

Hope this helps Paul - don't give up. There's a lot of great stuff in the training certification and also the training that other members are providing here for free so take full advantage of all this!

All the best to you!
John 😉👍

John thanks so much for your great feedback. I'm actually on level 3 of the training and haven't used Facebook, twitter or Reddit yet to help generate interest, so I'll work on that. I plan to create guitar lessons as well and link to them from Youtube in the near future.
My website displays my profile pic and says follow me on : www.mygreatguitar.com on there. Is that where its supposed to display it ? I've linked a pic of it.

hey aul, when I go to your profile page I don't see that "follow me on..." note that I do see in the picture that you sent me for some reason. It's just not there at all anywhere on your page. You might want to ask a question for the technical team about that.

I went to your website too which is shaping up nicely I must say. Lots of good content and overall it's clean and easy to absorb. There's still some finishing touches to take care of though like the box on the right hand side that suggests that you add something there. It makes it seem like you are under construction and people may be discouraged by that a bit.

My boy is into guitar and I know he'll be interested in your reviews so I'll recommend it to him! He's looking into pedals and such now.

Let's keep in touch!

Regards,
John

Suggest you take a look at Jay’s webinar last week on how to build multiple traffic sources. That would help.

Ok great, can do. Thanks a bunch.

Might you have a link to it ?

Here is the link to the replay of the webinar.

If it was me, I'd keep on writing relevant content. Many here say that to have a really relevant site in the search engines there should be around 100 quality posts. Of course, Paul, that doesn't mean that there aren't websites with considerably less that are very successful. This is something that takes a long time to do. You are way ahead of me--as I've spent more time behind the scenes creating the content (my books) that I want to promote. The great thing is that each relevant post you create is a step in the right direction. There are supremely successful members here (an example--Nathaniel--see success stories) who labored on their sites for over four years! Looking back for them I'm certain is extremely worthwhile. Motivation, perseverance, and patience are just some keys to success in this or any other business for that matter! Don't give up hope! You're on the right track. I'm also slowly working at finishing my training because it gives you many other avenues to generate interest in your sites!

Jeff

Thanks Jeff,
Not giving up! Come too far.

That's the spirit--you WILL ultimately be successful, but we all experience times like what you're having right now!

Jeff

I think I just answered your other question but my recommendation would be to try and create as much content as possible during the last 3 months. It's possible to post every day for example if you have a few hours to spare every day. Then I would also try Facebook ads and social media outreach. It's a process, don't give up now that you have a good start!

Agreed. Not giving up. Thanks, I'll go for it then.
