Finally after days of determined research I found the missing emails. I always wondered where my spam file was and I had marked "hide" without realizing the consequences...i.e.,
This is awesome, Donna. I recently located my spam email too when I tried to subscribe to a newsletter, only to never receive the confirmation email. Behold, it was delivered the my spam folder, lol. Glad you got this issue sorted and you can confirm these are not spam. Many blessings. :)))

I still am not receiving emails from WA in my inbox. I am not receiving any emails now, and only received a handful yesterday. My email is gmail.
Oh my, I had the issue of everything going in spam in yahoo but haven't had any issues now that I switched to gmail. I sure hope you get resolve on this soon! :)
The only resolution was to get a new email, and that has worked. But there is the case of the missing emails: Dec 5, 6 and 7.
Have you checked your spam or trash folder?
Also - do you sync with your smartphone? I had an issue earlier in the year where during syncing it was deleting them from my computer. I changed a setting in gmail and it was fine.
No I didn't sync...and I tried to figure out what to sync. Anyway, no email is on mobile either. Thanks for the help.
Give it a day or so. I have heard others say they were having trouble too. The system may be getting a bug worked out by the techs
You are probably right, but I grew impatient and created a new email. I just hope I can get some of the old emails as I have responses that I'm sure need to be made.
There's no problem with gmail....if your settings are okay, ..make sure you have WA in your gmail 'contacts'...mine has inbox, promotions, social tabs at top of email....make sure it didn't go into a different 'tab'....
Checked everything...still nothing worked. Just added a new gmail and Voila! getting email.
Maybe check in your promotions tab, or you can create a folder specifically for WA: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/using-gmail-filters-to-organize-wa-email-notifications
You can also check your notification settings here: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home/my_profile
Thanks Nathaniel. I had checked everything I knew to check. Finally I just made a new email and have started receiving new emails an hour or so ago. Two days is missing.
Did you check your spam? Also check your settings here at WA. click your image next to your rank and go to account settings...scroll down to email notification settings and anything that doesn't have a check mark on it, indicates that you don't want to receive those emails. Whatever emails you want to receive check it. I hope this helps :)
I thought hotmail wasn't offering emails any longer. But I just created a new gmail and now I'm getting email again. Never could figure out the problem.
Do you have your email notification settings set in your Account Settings as you want them?
I know some days I don't receive anything, then the next day there is a ton of emails. Not sure why it works that way, it is like the system is behind.
Thanks. This is the first time I'm having trouble. I actually created a new account and just got some email, but what ever happened to the 3 days missing is a mystery.

I haven't received any emails from Wealthy Affiliate in over 24 hours. Wondering if anyone else is having problems.
It is important after all, lol! Glad you found it seemed like an easy fix like mine was except it went to spam.
I have had this a couple of times with Gmail. Look in the spam folder that is where I found all of mine. For some reason every once in a while they go there. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the idea, but I found it all in my important file...go figure! Thanks for the input. I never would have though to look there without your recommendation.
So far so good for me. :) Donna, did you change yr setting not to receive notificatons? :)
No problem with the WA emails. Maybe you have to check your account setting. The part about 'Email Notification Settings'. Joze

I have just discovered when people visit my site and wish to leave a comment, they must register. I don't want that. Can I change that? Do I make the change in the General Sett
Hi Donna! -
I guess you haven't changed it yet -- Looks the same as it did eight hours ago! :)
I was in the midst of reviewing where I needed to make changes and I got an offer from hubby to go out. Now how was I to refuse that. Then it was bed time, and the next day. So here I am working again, finally able to secure the changes. Thanks for keeping me honest.
Hi Donna! -
You know it's always Good to get away from this Internet thing - one in awhile.
Even if it's only for a short period!
You did the RIGHT thing going out with hubby! :)
Go to settings general and un check anyone can register
Go to settings >> discussion and un check users must be registered to comment
Barry
I have nothing in general but the other was not checked. The info I got was wrong. It's the name/address for email is my next concern. Kim set me straight. Thank you so much for your help. Hope I can do the same for you one day.
Hi Donna, did you get this figured out. You seem to be using the same theme as I am. You are using a contact us form it looks like. I use the comments that comes with the theme. You have to check enable for the comments option to work in each one of your pages that you want comments. Not sure if you are using a contact form plugin or how you set it up...let me know where you are at. :))
So, if I have the contact form with comments, the comments are not counted in the same way as the "comments" which come with the theme. Correct? I think what I did was change the form so that the comments was not there, but the rest of the form was. Then I auto allow comments on each post/page. What I don't understand is how the people are tracked through comments if there is no place to input the email or anything else for that matter.
Thanks for your help. Just trying to understand how WP works. And, all of this has not been covered to the best of my knowledge.
Hi Donna, in your settings under discussion, do you have the box checked for users must register...I don't have that checked on mine, but they still have to submit their email and name in the comments up above that option.
I think the "registration" is just so you can eyeball the comments for spam. Lets you verify who can comment on your site. Once you approve them, I don't think they are asked to register again. I could be wrong though.
Thank you for that understanding. That logic makes sense to me. But, I don't like being forced to register...so if I don't like it, I think others won't as well. So I opt out of it. When I was told it was there, I was frustrated...just as I am when I have to register to get further into a site.
I understand the frustration. I went to the WordPress for Beginners web site and found a section, (http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-override-comment-deadline-in-wordpress/. It tells how to manage the comment section. Maybe it will help, or at least answer more questions for you.
You are a gem. Thank you so much. I shall meander over and take a look-see to discover what I can learn. Thank you again, Terry.
Thanks for the question and the answer. I did not notice the required registration, I also removed it.
Thank you so much for telling me that. What a relief. I thought I had disabled that function. But I still think I need to do some work to fix it the way I want....which is the way I would want to experience a site visit.
Donna, I just left a comment on your Build a Website post. It just took it ,like any other comments I've left. It said, "Your form has been submitted." Nobody asked me to register,, so maybe I'm not understanding what you're asking.
No, there is no registration. The information I ;w';;s inaccurate. Thank you for leaving a comment. I have never received any information from WP about any comments at anytime. I must have missed a step somewhere along the way. Well...we shall see what happens today.

Under "Other comment settings" look for and uncheck "Users must be registered and logged in to comment "
This should give your visitors an open form for commenting on your articles. You should get more comments this way.
Oh and make sure where it says "Anyone can register" that you have this unchecked. You don't want people registering for your site unless it's some sort of membership thing where you offer a service or product. If you're doing the courses here then most likely this isn't the case.
Jay, Thank you so much. You have directed me to the right place, and yes I had everything as it should be. So I don't think the information I received was correct. BUT, I have checked that people must provide name and email to comment. Perhaps that is what he was thinking was a registration.
By checking "provide email and name to comment" am I essentially asking my visitor twice to provide this information as my comment form requires name and email?
I cannot get into my site except as myself, so I cannot answer these questions. I need to figure another way in.without always being me... But right now I want an answer...now, now,now.... silly me.
Hi Donna! -
I don't know - never come across this before!
Are you using a plug-in to create this form?
Well, yes and no. I am using a plug-in for comments. The form I have selected does require name and email. I may change that, if the system auto determines the email. But the default in my theme requires a registration (at least I think it is a default) Or I may have just read the option to require a registration. Couple that with having experienced it when reviewing other people's sites, I was frustrated that the requirement was in my site. I don't like it. I don't want it in my site for my visitors. Anyway, I think I have it all understood, except what does WordPress "capture" when a visitor makes a comment. Just the comment. Or something more?

Did the Newsletter requirement change to sign up for Contact List?
Creating an email list for your site is a good idea. Having contacts that you can connect with from your site helps to get your readers involved and interacting with you.
A newsletter is a good way to collect the addresses of these people.
