Today without Electricity

Not sure how many members at WA live in Southern California . . . . but I do. This is usually the time of the year when fire happens. Today a new fire erupted about 1.5 miles from where I live. Just so thankful, we don’t have to evacuate. But we have no electricity since early morning. No internet. Am using my phone to do this blog. My phone has ran out of juice so I am using a battery pack for cell phones. I thought of blogging about the situation while I have a small power support. My 2 pugs are snoring next to me and keeping me warm. We could not light our fire place as the wind is blowing into it from the rooftop opening and so we are afraid the smoke will be everywhere in the house. The fire is only 15% contained. It started where Ronald Reagan Library is. The library did not burn as the authorities did what they could to spare the whole place. It is a beautiful scenery when you are up there. There is a stable in the area where horses were running around and confused. Also some goats. I think they were all saved.

So here I am just waiting for electricity to come back . . . But it is almost time to go to sleep. Good night all.

Thank you so much to all for your thoughts and prayers. My battery pack ran out of juice also and had to end my blog last night. The wind had just so much power and you can hear the sound. I managed to fall asleep. Woke up at 8:00 am and the power came back on at 8:30 am. The wind had slowed down a bit. Had to check outside and see how many more avocados have dropped from our trees and if there are any broken branches. Luckily no more branches broke off only the big tree in front of our house. The city employees have come to shred the fallen branch and cleared the road. The fire had moved away to a different direction of the hills. Hopefully, it will be contained before it creates anymore damage to a lot of residents of the next city. The wind is also quieter this afternoon . . . so there is a chance of containing the fire.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts.

Sitting here in safety, I cannot image the stress you are going through. I hope for the best for you and hte others there in the fire zones.

Stay safe... fires are very scary ...

Thank you Tim!

Good luck. It sounds like a pretty serious problem there. In the Philippines where I live, we get brown-outs several times a month, but fortunately, it is usually only for an hour or two. My computer battery doesn't hold a charge, so a brown-out means I am largely out of commission for working on my website.

Thank you Joe.

I always felt the importance of electricity that much with an impact when there is no electricity for whatever reason. I pray for you all guys out there. Take care!

Hello Sophie and thanks for sharing.
Glad you are ok, I have heard what is happening up your way.
It is amazing that we have phones today that can still keep us in touch.
I hope your electricity is sorted out soon.
All the best
Darren :)

Yes, very thankful that we have an alternative to still communicate. I was using my phone’s Wi-fi until I ran out of charge late at night. Thank you.

Thank you Darren. Yes, I am glad that we have phones and it has data that all of us can use these days. Very helpful in times of need.

Oh god! I’m so sorry to hear that. Please stay safe and take all the necessary precautions.

Thank you Steeph.

Oh my... stay safe
🙏🏻

Thanks Fleeky.
