Authoring & Writing Content

Im hoping to get a response from someone who has tried multiple posts and pages in a short period of time and also spread it out...

Is there a benefit from writing mult

I've read some of James Michener's 1200 page novels Sophie They are entrancing and the content is enlivening. Cant get enough of it!

Wow that’s dedication!!

You better spread, Google likes consistency. When you are able to write 8 posts in a row, and then 6 weeks nothing, you spread the publications over a period, let's say 2-3 a week
I publish 2 a week, sometimes I have 4 posts in draft, it gives a really relaxed feeling too, there is no pressure

I’m really like the idea of consistency. And the overall feedback about that has been really good.

It makes complete sence to post consistently rather then having large breaks in between the activity on our sites.

I’m getting really excited about my new content plan. Thank you for sharing :)

I personally have a aim at posting 3 posts a week. I publish them when they are finished and continue editing them a little while they are live.

After that, I start writing my second one and so on....

I don't publish always the same days. I publish as they are finished. But I don't rush things either. I want them to be at least good enough.... When I'm somehow satisfy with what I read

I like that. Consistency but no crazy pressure. I think when we put to much pressure on ourselves that’s when we can get burnt out... not about to let that happen...

For me, a goal of 3 posts is not that much.... maybe it would be for someone else... I totally agree with you that too much pressure isn't good... it's best to aim at something realistic that we feel we can fill...

Completely agree... I think 3 a week is a good solid number. Enough to be consistent, but not to much to overload your time and brain ....

Rule of thumb:
- Quality over quantity content
- Post 2-3 times per week as not to overwhelm your audience.
- Do marketing on your existing post/page

Well said. If you can produce quality content at a rate higher than 3 posts per week, that is fine too. If you can produce one AMAZING post every week, that can also work.

I would recommend that you post content as it is complete, versus saving a whole bunch of posts up and then publishing it all at once. Search engines tend to like when you have trickle content coming into your site (consistency).

I really like your plan of action. I do believe in life quality is always better over quantity.

I have been rebuilding by brand and making some great headway. Just wanted some thoughts about posting content.

The marketing existing content part is a real idea. I’ll be adding that to my daily to do :)

I love the sounds of a trickle of content. Letting the content flow naturally. I don’t like the idea of holding back content... that’s my hard work, I want that active and ranking as soon as possible. But I also didn’t want to burn myself out trying to produce multiple posts or pages a day.

Thanks for taking the time to add your thoughts :)

From my experience, posting everyday, sometimes twice a day has really helped me improve my ranking within the search engines.

The only thing with posting more than once a day is, it beats you up mentally.

If you could post everyday, or twice a day, I think it would really help you with ranking, it will not mess you up with SEO or anything like that if you're worried.

Again, this is from my personal experience. Hope this helps out :)

-Jaime

Thank you for taking the time to offer your experience. Sometimes I do find writing multiple posts in a day can be mentally exhausting, especially when there is lots of research and reference involved.

I was concerned about the ranking and SEO factors that’s for shedding some light on that.

No problem at all :)

As usual you always offer me such a great helping hand :)

I do what I can and help with what works for me :)

Hope all is well with your business.

It’s coming along. I’m in the process of rebulding and rebranding. I haven’t had the response I want from my sites yet. So I’m working on some changes...

Hope your having some positive results with your business :)

I'm glad you're not giving up, you got this!

As for myself, I changed a lot of things up on my site that were holding it back, like my theme for example, and now it's really picking up traffic and sales.

It's all a process, but once you get it down, it's all about maintaining from there.

If you ever need help later on down the line, don't hesitate to reach out and I'll be more than happy to lend you a hand.

You were one of the first people to reach out to me when I started! Thank you for the words of encouragement.

I find change is one of the hardest things to do. When something isn’t working it can be scary to make big changes... I’m happy to hear some of the ones you made help your business. I hope that I can have the same result

Give up... never!!!

Im currently in phase 5 section 7 of the bootcamp series. The task on section 7 is to create your custom sign up forms. watching the video our current layout on the site is dif

If you mean the custom signup link you will find it in Links & Tracking (see pic) just follow the instructions for a new form.

Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert

thank you! I had a few people tell me different things. the addition of the image really helped me find it.

thank you again

No probs Stephania
Since you have been here you will have been given a lot of useless information simply because replying to comments or questions is taken as being helpful and it helps a persons ranking within WA.
No matter what rank you are it will not help you set up an online business to make money.
You should seek out people such as myself who have been here a few years and know what we are talking about.
Have a great Saturday.
Robert

Very much agreed. I have noticed that, sometimes people even respond with things that don’t make any sence. You have helped me out a few times. Really appreciate your knowledge and help.

Stephania :)

Happy to point you in the right direction when I can and If I can't I usually know someone who can.

I don't know if I have told you this before so you may not be aware of this but it’s a good idea (only if you want to) to click the 'Like' icon within a comment if you like it as I have done with yours.
Obviously you don't have to click every single comment or you will be here all day doing nothing but.
But to click the ones you like that are replies to your own comments will be reflected in your WA ranking because it shows you are getting involved with the community.

I published content as a post, and then later decided it would be better as a page.. is there anything I can do to fix it?

The about me section suposdlt should be a page. But on one of myvsites,I did it as a post and just added it to the menu. It's really your choice.

Oh I didn't know you could do that... I'll have to check that out, thankyou

Trish had this one recently

This is from a previous post from Marion...

Yes, use the Text tab (not the Visual tab) and copy and paste from one to the other. If you want to use the same permalink then you'll need to delete the original and empty the trash. Otherwise WordPress uses the permalink based on your title and adds a number (2) to it.

Hope this helps!

That's a good tip, I have noticed that that happened to me once in the early stages of me figuring this whole world out

So which is better? To do posts or do a separate page everytime you write something? What's the difference?

When ever you write new content you should 'post' it so that it would show on your blog roll. Pages are meant to be static, meaning they do not change often. They also have a fixed position on your menu, whereas posts do not. You can add new information to a page, but your posts are what would change everyday on your site.
I hope this helps.

is it best to make all blog posts their own page?

No. Posts go on your blog. Pages are generally for static information such as your "About Me" page.

I MADE A PRODUCT REVIEW PAGE WHICH THEN GOES TO EACH PRODUCT PAGE...GOOD OR BAD IDEA?

I changed, pages to posts, with copy/paste method, and it got ranked a few days later.

Gary

Oh really, I was worried it would effect my rankings if I did that... happy to hear it didn't for you

Yes, you can use the post type switcher plugin

I like the sounds of that!!! Ill have to look it up thank you
