Challenge To Do One Blog Post Every Day

Sigh

Its been 8 months so far,I have had a few small successes but nothing big, no major surge in traffic, my daily toll is somewhere between 10 and 80 a day, all from Pinterest / Facebook and Twitter. I have only been blogging once a week, at the most every 10 days. I have about 23 posts so far. 23 QUALITY posts, mind you , but only 23.

Who am I kidding? How do I expect to reach #1 on google going about things this way?

I need to post once a day. At least 3 times a week. This was what was told to me by a friend who I made here at WA and we have been exchanging messages back and forth. He is so very helpful and gives me really great advice to which I apply it and it all makes sense. His advice has led me to the descion to post once a day and see what happens.

You see my niche is Baby Sleep ( Goodnightmybaby.com) and I felt that I couldnt talk about other baby issues, it had to be about sleep only. Well this friend of mine set me straight and told me that the market was not over saturated with my niche and it would be in my better interests to broaden my niche a little and talk about ALL things baby.... but of course, make it primarily about baby sleep.

Now that I know I can expand my horizons the other problem is ENERGY LEVELS! My son is asleep for the night and this is why I have time now to get online. But during the day I am SWAMPED with mommy chores. Believe me, when I was pregnant, THIS is the type of mom I thought I was going to be:

You know, chic, sexy, makeup and hair done. Walking in high heels while pushing my very quiet and content child in his carriage. While wheeling my Channel bag through the airport. Of course, that was the image I had of myself as a mom.

The truth is, for me this is what Motherhood really looks like ( except I am a single mom and its ME feeding baby in the middle of the night, NOT dad ) :

But you know what i tell myself? If I keep working hard and if I put in that work once a day everyday in the next year I will have an actual income that will allow me to have the kind of life where I don't have to worry about going to early because I have to go to work the next day. So right now, the idea of putting in work everyday to secure a future for myself where I dont have to work for someone else, well its WORTH IT!

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have decided during your blogging career to just REV up your work and put in x5 effort. What were the results? Did you see any the next couple weeks? What did you do different and what did you learn?

Easy peasy Sophia!

It been about 4 1/2 months for me and I realize for the next 6-8 months I need to be posting everyday when possible as well. I believe this it=s the magic to increasing traffic.

Work social media as well.

Research what the successful sites are doing and copy their methods.

I think you have alot more information to offer by just being a mom. All of the issues and challenges that you have to face require creative solutions that would interest other single moms. How you write it, link it to your other articles, and promote it to social media via buttons can make a huge difference in your traffic. You can create more categories with articles under each category like finance, cooking, family vacation ideas, favorite recipes. I got inspired from Lena's website and she is amazing at this niche. Her website can be found here: https://www.whatmommydoes.com/. She gives lots of great tips and training info. Good luck!

WHOA! That is a really cool site! Thank you for sharing that with me.

It's a feat already doing writing on a daily basis. Your a super woman, indeed!

I’m in the same position, and I’ve made it even harder by choosing a niche that will require me to travel a lot... around a full time job.. it’s what I want. But where is the time, and money for that matter?!

There are a number of entrepreneur coaches that I follow on social media, and they give loads of good advice, including how to plan and structure like a months worth of content so you can prepare better and schedule your postings, just google content planner or online business coach and a whole bunch of stuff will come up. Also, yes complete the training, I’m nearly through with cert 5 and it helps things fall into place a little.

By the way, your selfie is awesome. I know you look fed up but it’s really well taken. Do you use an app to make your photos look professional?

Thank you. You know honestly this picture is really, really old so I don't remember what app I used. lol

Gosh you are the second person to tell me that I need to finish the training. And you are right! I am still on 4, and I suppose I thought I learned all I needed to learn but that is not the case I see now. Thank you for reminding me to do that.

Sophia,
I noticed you completed Cert3. Bear with me, please. Cert 4 and 5 have Kyle tasking a new blog the majority of the lessons and providing some really great information. I suggest committing to completing those certs and then looking at where you are at.

Despite my best intentions, I am still at 1 blog per week, with research in progress for the next blog started.
Best of luck on your way
To Success!

You are right. I should really finish the training before I start to whine. Thank you for reminding me. I actually stopped doing the training because I felt like I learned as much as I needed and just continued with posting once a week.... but I see now that there is much more to know to make my blog successful. Duh Sophia lol

I did not mean to say you were whining. I apologize if I sounded like that. Just that if you worked thru the remaining Certs, you could get a good number of additional blogs. You are doing the right things, just add a little patients (?) in.

A very well done post, Sophia, I have been seven months at the WA, and I post only once a week, I know I should follow the rule to post two or better, three times a week, but I am so busy with other things.
I wish you the very best.
Jacqueline

Yes I understand. As much as you can possibly do I guess is the best motto. And not to beat yourself up if you have a lax day.

Good post SophiaMia .I just ramp up my posts from once a week to a regular schedule of twice a week.As prescribed by Kyle
.1 post on sunday and another on Wednesday.I have busy work schedule .So lets see what happens .

only 23 posts in 8 months? thats why you are bringing in the organic traffic, ive been here 6 months with 2 websites and i got bout 50 posts on each. If you can manage a post everyday that would help you out but if you want organic traffic you got to post a lot.

I hear you. That is what my friend also said, that you have to post everyday.

With 50 posts on each website, are you seeing a lot of traffic or is it just starting to come only now? How often do you post like 3 times a week?

I am still toiling away at 2, maybe 3 posts a week Sophia. I work full-time and this is as much as I can do for now. It may take us a little bit longer but we will get there too.

I'm not the maternal type so I don't envy you being a single mum, it always just seemed like hard work to me, so good on you for having a career and a baby.

Go girl!

Also I am sure if you had a nanny and staff to get up to the baby and do all the chores, you would look like that photo too :)

Aww thanks, yeah being a single mom is exhausting.

I am only 35 but when I get worn out from just bending over to pick up a toy!

Jeez.
