How does your business website HELP people?

If you want your business to grow and thrive, it needs to help people somehow. The more people you can serve, the more income your business will generate.

  • Bill Gates (Microsoft) and Steve Jobs (Apple) became very wealthy because they created and sold products that a lot of people find very useful.
  • Sam Walton understood that people want to save money when they need to purchase the basic things they want. Thus, he became very wealthy with the WalMart stores. Generally speaking, people save money when they buy stuff at WalMart.

Take time to consider businesses, both online and those you visit in person. How successful are they at satisfying a need that you have?

Is the niche website that you are working on helping people? If not, what type of content should you add that will allow you to help more people? Ultimately, our goals for our niche website businesses should be to help as many people as possible. The more people we can help, the more profitable our business can be.

I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend.

That's a great point, Sondra. I think too often when we say use the term "online business", we can overlook that we're really in the people business.

I believe our success - however way you define success - is directly related to how well we meet the needs of the people we serve.

Hi Veronica. I agree with you. Even though we don't see our customers, we are in the people business.

Sondra, this is very true. People want to visit our sites if they feel we are able to provide sound advice or interesting insight no matter what niche we're in. No one wants to be sold to.
Erica

Erica, you made a great point. No one wants to be sold to.

Great reminder Sondra, we are in the business of helping people and every post and product we put out there needs to have that end goal. Nice post!

Thank you!!! The key is to not forget the end goal when we are writing.

Well said, Sondra! If we aren't focused on filling the need of people looking for help, we will get nowhere.

Every page and post I create is focused on helping solve a problem for my visitors. If they CAN FIND IT and they BELIEVE IT WILL HELP, then I will earn revenue. If I do this efficiently, I can make a profit.

If I get enough of the right traffic, I will soon find out if they TRUST that I offer the help they need... My fingers are crossed.

Thanks for your post...
Steve

Very well said Steve. I hope that much success finds its way to you soon.

Thanks Sondra. I wish you the same.

I can't agree with you more. The choice of niche is a very crucial one for a site to generate any form of revenue.

James,

Thanks! People need to know enough about their chosen niche to know what people are searching for.

Ideally, this is done as early as possible, and not waste a great deal of time on a niche which won't be profitable. The other side of the coin is that one learns in the process.

When people surf the internet the number #1 reason is because they are in search of something. If your websites doesn’t have anything to offer them, chances are they will simply just click away. Thanks for bringing up this important point Sondra.
Jerome

Jerome,

You said it extremely well. If our website does't have something to offer, people will simply click away.
