3 month old "make money online" niche blog sold for $2,300 last Saturday
Last Saturday, a 3 month old affilate marketing blog aimed at the "make money online" niche sold for $2,300 on Flippa. This seller, Blackberry Girl, may not have been all that happy. This is because back in January, 2017, she had sold a different website with a make money theme for $12,000. That site was about 9 months old. Then again, she could be ecstatic because she didn' spend as much time on the most recent website. Time is money.
I'm confident that the seller was, if not still is, a WA member. I haven't figured out how to confirm short of sending her an email and asking. I have not emailed her to ask yet.
Last week, before I stumbled upon those websites, I decided to start a website in similar niche. Being the analytical sort of person that I am, I did "analyze" both websites thatshe created, the traffic and the sales figures reported on Flippa. Using Kyle's word, I also received some "inspiration" from what affiliates she was promoting and how she laid them out in her website. The website looks great. Most traffic came from social media. I would describe the seller as a very hard working, energetic, creative person that has become a Pinterest marketing guru.
On the website that sold back in January for $12,000 , she did have a link to Wealthy Affiliate. This is what it said,
"Wealthy Affiliate: The place to start if you are new to blogging. It takes you through a 7 phase self-paced online training. Super huge community. I had 70 followers after being with Wealthy Affiliate for just 3 days. Their affiliate program is top notch. $19/month."

I list the source as being probable because the new website owner may have changed the website and added the link to WA themself. I don't think so because it still seemed to radiate the sellers personality that I noticed in both websites.
Jenn, if you do read this, I would like to congratulate you on both sales. Way to go! I hope you achieve even more success in the future.
For the rest of us, we need to keep following the WA training, creating content and learning how to drive people the our websites. Additionally, when marketing WA, we should not be afraid to present the benefits of WA in our own words and with our own pictures.

That is so interesting Sondra, another way to generate income, really like your closeout, it is such a good way to promote things in our own words and with our unique take very good reminder thank you.
Thank you Evan for noticing the close out at the end. There are so many ways to generete income online.
I can relate to what you are saying. I think if I was to sell one, I would need to know from the very beginning that I was doing it to resell. Its amazing how we end up putting our hearts and souls into a website.
Great work that, Sondra. Don't expect the lady concerned will own up as she will suddenly become very popular. May have to wait for her ebook (if she has time to write one)
I'm can't remember if she already has her own ebook on Pinterest or not. She promoted a lot of different things yet still managed to keep the sites from feeling spammy.
Gosh...selling our websites is a whole new concept. So many angles to this business pop up every day. As you said, just keep doing the training and build our sites. Thanks for sharing. Debbie
Debbie, we are learning more than we realize here at Wealthy Affliate. When we first start out, we don't really know or understand why we are being told to do certain things. As I spent time watching the offerings on Flippa, what is selling and peopel's comments, I've started having a lot of "oh...that's why we were told to do that" moments.
Yep good money in building websites and flipping them. I have been doing it for years and fixing to flip another one in the next couple of weeks.
To do that you first have to go through the training so you know what you are doing. To flip it at a good price you have to be making money with it and the training here at Wealthy Affiliate does that.
Whoever it was that sold these two websites great job.
Best wishes on your upcoming flip. I agree, Jen aka Blackberry Girl, did a great job with those two websites.
This is most interesting, Sondra. I don't think I knew that we could sell our websites! I just love the fact that something we wrote months ago can still prove to be lucrative.
Thanks for sharing this, Sondra.

I'm quite familiar with doing this, although I've never done it myself. I congratulate this person for her achievement. I belong to a copywriting group on Facebook and we've discussed this on many occasions. I'd love to be able to "test" it! Thanks, Sondra, for posting this.

You are welcome. Sites that are getting organic traffic and earn some money seem to do pretty well, from the outside looking in. I do not know how much work went on behind the scenes to get the traffic in such a short time.
If you try it one of these day, I wish you the best.
